POSTS STORIES REELS

Alright, what’s going on! My name is Kyle Anderson and I figured it was time for an introduction! 👋👋

I am a graphic designer and illustrator based in southwest Florida creating work inspired by cars, skateboarding, music and gaming. Currently in a season of exploration so I’m experimenting with different subjects and styles to see what I truly enjoy creating. ✨

The past few projects experimenting with textures and jittery lines felt so weird at first. I’ve always been a sucker for clean vector lines so it was awesome to try something different and I’ve really loved what I’ve been creating. 🖤

Over the past few weeks I’ve been pretty busy in the garage tinkering on my VW, so it only felt right for this selfie to be in my natural habitat. Good thing I enjoy this, right? 🙃

When I’m not wrenching or throwing down artwork, you can find me playing Rocket League or CoD, skateboarding, (indoor) rock climbing, or spending time with my wife and dogs (bostons are the best, and I will fight you if you talk shit about my babies). Always listening to music, lots of emo (don’t come at me on the technicals, nerd) and lots of stuff from video games/skate videos. “Did you know this song was in THPS?” And of course, being named Kyle, you’ll catch me drinking Monster. 🤠

As much as I’d like to say I don’t take myself too seriously, I am a chronic over thinker and get in my own way more often than I’d like. With this page, I’m trying very hard to break that! 🌭

If you share any interests and want to get stuck in a yap session, clearly I can type for days, hit my DMs, let’s be friends! 🫂

Flashback to the project that kicked off this page! 🧶

Still stoked how this poster turned out. For those who didn’t see it, I had started by illustrating each song of the album, and then was given the idea to combine them into a cohesive poster! 🤑

@deathcabforcutie - Transatlanticism 🎶

I struggle hard with not showing past work and trying to keep my posts new and fresh, but forcing out progress posts when there is little to see feels wrong. 😅

Going to try better to show some past works when I have “nothing to show!” 🔥

WHO WANTS STICKERS?! 👀

I’ve really been loving all these illustrations I’ve been making lately, so you know ya boi had to have some stickers made from @stickerapp! 🤑

I do not have a website just yet soooo if you’re liking what you’re seeing and want some, shoot me a DM or leave a comment on this post and I’ll get some over to ya!! 🫂🙏

Swipey sketches! 🤠

Knocked out a few more iconic memories for this next project. Wanted to display them a bit differently than another iPad photo. 🤑

This also gives a better idea on how they will sort of intertwine with each other in the end. Except instead of it being a IG swipey post, it’ll be mocked up onto a deck with some added branding. 🫂

Any of the new additions stand out to you? 👀

WIP CHECK IN! 🫡

This project is going to have a bunch of small illustrations in it. So starting these off with some pencil sketches of some of the elements. ✍️

Likely going to be adding a lot of filler throughout, also need to figure out if I’m going to create a pattern with these elements, or just have them all appear one time. Either way, they all hold a special memory. 🫂

This project is starting a little differently. 👀

I’m finally diving into the one thing I’ve neglected the most on here, but probably has the deepest roots for me, skateboarding. 🛹

I went back through old videos the homies and I filmed at our local and pulled out some of my favs. There’s a lot of clips that still make me smile so many years later and moments I still reference to this day. 🫂

Looking forward to illustrating these memories and bringing them together into a really personal board design. 🍑✖️🖤

Catching Weedles and duplicating items! 🤑

Missingno in Pokemon Red is a core memory for me from my childhood. Unlimited rare candy and masterballs without needing to use the GameShark? I’m in! 🥴

I remember getting my teal Gameboy Color and Red version when I was 5, couldn’t read worth a shit but was obsessed with the show. Spammed B through all dialogue, only had Pokemon that looked cool, and they all only had moves that did damage. New level, learn an attack that can one hit but only has 30 accuracy? Sounds like an easy selection to me! 👊

I always thought being able to encounter the skeleton Kabutops with the Missingno glitch was so rad. So I had to illustrate that version. I even did a full body illustration and then masked him into the screen of the Gameboy. 🔥

I drew every square in the background and then colored them one by one to match the classic glitched Missingno pattern, just repeated sections to fill out the full rectangle. I like this way more than my original plan to have the large “NO” in the background. Added the party sprites, text at the bottom, and Cinnabar Island to tie in even more of the IYKYK vibes. 🫂

Super happy with the final piece, I had quite a few pivots and technical hiccups along the way, so finishing it off and even seeing it printed has me fired up. 🤘

Another WIP for this guy! 🤠

Pivoted quite a bit from my very initial thought on this. Was originally going to have “MISSINGNO” on the entire background like in the first sketch post, buuuut there was too much hidden behind the gameboy so I simplified it to just NO. 🤝

I typically don’t post as many WIP posts for a single piece but I’m glad I’m taking my time on this one. This has become one of my favorites so far. Doing a lot of experimenting with layering, masking, and doing highlights/shadows. 🤌🤌

Let’s see if I pivot again on the background concept. 🤪

Silly little reel for this weeks post! Love how the skeleton kabutops came out! 🤝

Wanted to do a more clean design this time around, but initial ink process without the texture felt too weird so I pivoted back. May still try to make it work tho! ✍️

Going to experiment with some typography for the final piece, the original idea of just having “MISSINGNO” in the background just feels very MEH 🤠

Also also, decided to fully illustrate the skeleton kabutops and not just the parts I need. Wish Fresco’s masking was better buuuut may have some plans for this little guy in the future! 🙂‍↔️

Puck Ferfection. 🤠

Perfectionism is a big blocker in my creative journey. I get in my head all the time about making things EXACTLY how I envision it. And at times it fully paralyzes me from doing the damn thing. 🫠

This sketch post feels weird cause it was not as dialed as I wanted it to be, right now it’s extremely rough with just the inspiration traced for a rough composition. But I’m pushing and sharing it anyways! 🙏

This piece is going to be centered around Missingno from the OG Pokemon Red. Being so young when I had the first game, I didn’t have any strategy except level up and do big power. I couldn’t tell you about any type advantages. BUT Missingno, crazy encounters, and x ◣9 items in the 6th slot, can not forget that! 🫡

Anyone else got any gen 1 memories they have burned into their memory? ✍️

What kind of Magikarp are you? 👀

Drop a comment of your favorite and share it to your story! 🥺👉👈

Was planning on posting a static carousel with zoom-ins like normal to show that sweet vector texture, but wanted to add some silly sayings to make these goobers more sharable. 🖤

After I finished the last post I felt like I needed to give some love to Gyarados, and while I was working on him, Adobe Fresco decided to error out and not save, lost an hour worth of work. But we push thru! 💪💪

Should we give Gyarados arms and legs too? 👀💪

Very happy with how this turned out, admittedly I was getting super frustrated with Adobe Fresco when I was first creating this! Little differences compared to Procreate that just felt out of place, and was so close to just going back to my comfort zone since I was only planning on making a single static image; but happy I pushed through! 🖤

And holy shit, I could not imagine doing this in Procreate! Vectors, frame animations PER LAYER, and even the randomize effect I added for the shiny! Only had to draw one shiny sparkle and Fresco let me duplicate and scatter more on the animation! ✨

It’s going to be extremely hard for me to not want to add some subtle animations into everything going forward haha. My only “regret” while compiling the clips for the reel was not making Magikarp Steve for every scene of the original animation, but then I keep telling myself I pushed this further than I was even originally planning. This was just supposed to be an experiment to learn Fresco! 🤪
