Soup, log fires and lots of candles. Looking back on May at the cottage 💫What a green month, filled with sunny days, wisteria, fridge cake and pie. A little reintroduction!Hi! I’m Rosie, and this is my 450-year-old cottage in the English countryside, where we moved five years ago from London. I’m a trained chef, mostly working in recipe development and food writing at the moment as I just had a baby a few months ago - but previously doing lots of private cheffing (and hopefully again in the future!) What I made in my cottage kitchen this May 💫Lots of calls for the fridge cake recipe - it couldn’t be easier or more perfect for summer “baking”, as it involves no baking whatsoever 😉 Will write it up over the weekend! A very toasty day at the cottage today spent inside with the curtains closed. Too hot to cook (apart from melting some butter to make a fridge cake) and then we had a huge power cut ! For the whole afternoon. Everyone, especially Basil, is hoping for a slightly cooler one tomorrow - though he did manage some frolicking in the garden before it got too warm. We are so lucky to live in this beautiful corner of England, and this glorious garden is currently in full bloom! Wilf and I went here for a rainy walk the other day, and around the surrounding countryside as well.
