The Time In Between — A lifelong friendship that is stretched across distance and time zones.A blend of a short and a spec of sorts. I wanted to create something more narrative-driven that I could make over a couple of days and finally get out of my head!!!I wanted to remind myself that filmmaking is a kind of play, where we can create worlds and characters, even in just 60 seconds. Definitely our favourite project of 2025. The place, the team, and the magic that went into this one— celebrating 30 years of @canuckplace 🎈The concept was inspired by a real story from a family who lost their son. In the weeks after, one balloon in their home stayed inflated and drifted from room to room. Using a single balloon to honour the kids and families of Canuck Place felt like the right way to capture that spirit, essence, and meaning. A peek into some recent work with Big Sisters BC Lower Mainland.Lynn and Rafaela were matched nine years ago—and after spending time with them on this project, it’s so clear why. They share a quiet confidence, a love for baking and they make every word count.Rafaela shared that seeing herself in Lynn gave her the courage to pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer, just like Lynn.
