Best life. Best wife. Happiest of happy birthdays to my everything - superwoman herself @jzabodyn - been a hell of a roller coaster this past year but you tackle everything with style and grace - proud of you always ❤️ by @bzabodyn214

Texas hospitality isn’t a myth. It’s a full contact sport. And for the past 24 hours, I’ve been on the receiving end.

BZ and I have been friends for 15 years. For a long stretch, we talked every single day. For years. We’ve watched each other’s kids grow up, lived through entire chapters of life together, and somehow managed to never actually meet in person.

Until now.

He greeted me at Houston airport in his incredible 992 GT3, because apparently a regular airport pickup wasn’t going to cut it. On the ride to El Campo, every town, road and building had a story. This wasn’t sightseeing. It was a crash course in the history and soul of the place he calls home.

Somewhere along those endless Texas highways, we got deep into Landman, dissecting how much of the show captures the realities of life down here. The culture, the characters, the sheer absurdity of how far you have to drive to get anywhere. In Texas, a quick trip apparently requires a full tank of gas and a commitment to the open road. The conversations made the miles disappear. And there were plenty of miles.

Then came his family, who treated me like I’d been showing up for Sunday dinner for decades. And Mexican food. Glorious Mexican food. Including an obscenely large burrito appropriately named The Donkey. A tortilla-wrapped monstrosity seemingly engineered to feed an entire family through a natural disaster. I looked that beast in the eye and did what any self-respecting guest would do. I ate the whole goddamn thing. Alone. With pride. And absolutely no regrets.

Friday night lights with the El Campo Ricebirds. A town packed into a stadium, cheering like it mattered. Because here, it does. Apparently, at the pep rally earlier that day, one of the hype men announced that people were actually flying in for this game. That’s right. Yours truly. A visiting dignitary from Connecticut, apparently. I even got to meet the guy who made the announcement on the football field afterward. My celebrity status in El Campo may have peaked before I even knew I had any.

The energy, the pride, the sense of community. Incredible. Oh, and my first pickle shot. Against all odds, I liked it.

Spring break-in… what started as just a road trip to put some miles on the new GT3 turned into a killer weekend with @dayton.zabodyn that included hiking Enchanted Rock, a Gruene Hall concert, and a little Texas/Ole Miss rivalry baseball. All the car photo creds to DZ also 📸

@porschesugarland @its_tripl3j let me build “my” perfect spec this time…. Oak Green GT3 w/ Cohiba exclusive interior and a touch of Cali gold 💰 this interior option was only available late in the .2 run for the wing cars - now off to PPF and a few minor mods to really make it “mine” - stay tuned… #porsche #911 #992 #gt3 #newcaralert by @bzabodyn214

Ever since the first GT3 was introduced while I was in college (damn I’m getting old), it’s always been a grail car for me - performance and a driving experience wrapped in a fairly unassuming package… the line has continued to mature over the years and who knows if this will be the last time we see a naturally-aspirated flat 6 with a manual transmission or not, but if it is, I’m happy to say I’ve owned a piece of automotive history. It’s currently at @clutchcitycustom getting full PPF / tint etc and then it’ll be time to start putting some miles on this beauty. Huge thanks again to @porschesugarland / @indigoautogroup for the absolutely amazing experience and the opportunity to own such a great machine - and thank you to @jzabodyn most of all for putting up with me and my way-too-expensive hobbies 🙈

Delivery day for my new 992.2 Porsche 911 GT3 - Oak Green Metallic Neo, new folding carbon bucket seats, carbon ceramic brakes, front axle lift and all the goodies… straight to PPF then time to put some miles on her. HUGE thank you again to @porschesugarland and their amazing team for the opportunity and the hospitality - you have earned my business for life 🥂 #porsche #911 #gt3 #992 #newcaralert 📸 @from.bryns.lens by @bzabodyn214

Been a while since I actually posted anything so figured maybe I need to get back on it… also realized I haven’t even had a decent photoshoot of the 911 T…. great sky pulling in the driveway from the gym so snapped some quick ones - not bad for an iPhone now that I was able to change some settings and dial it in 👌🏼

Been a while since I actually took a picture of a watch with a real camera…. The new @iwcwatches Ingenieur Titanium is worth the effort. Completely in love with how this thing wears on the wrist - tons of great details from the case finish to the bracelet links to the dial texture… 👌🏼 @iwcwatches_us #iwcwatches #iwc #ingenieur #titanium #sportwatch #antimagnetic #nwa #newwatchalert by @bzabodyn214

Only been 9 months since my last post so figured why the hell not 😉 Quick wristshot while searching out spots for a little photoshot for the Z06. Guess I’ll see you again in 2024 😂✌🏼

Congrats to @stephensilver on their first collaboration - the Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein for Stephen Silver Le Diptyque Watch Set - featuring a Regulateur alongside a Smiley weekly calendar that are emblematic of each respective watchmaker. So fun and refreshing with today’s primarily derivative styling. Not to mention in Titanium with a Velcro strap, this might be the most comfortable watch I’ve put on my wrist this year 💯 You can purchase the Smiley as a stand-alone but to get the Regulateur (my personal choice) you have to do the box set and act fast because there’s only 28 available ✌🏼
