Starting YEAR 4 of teaching on Wednesday and I am so excited! I canā€™t believe itā€™s been that long since I graduated from Troy University! Please be in prayer over my year and my sweet kiddos that will be in class with me everydayā€¦God bless themā€¦šŸ˜… I am so blessed to be able to teach at Conecuh Springs and to have such amazing support. This isnā€™t just a career, itā€™s a ministry and I am so thankful to the people who keep me filled up so that I can continue to pour out and teach these kiddos! ā¤ļø by @c.anne.s
Wow. When I graduated high school I said ā€œI believe I can do anything. I just donā€™t know what God wants me to do.ā€ For four years I worked because God didnā€™t tell me not to. Most of yā€™all know the story of how God led me to start school at Troy University (if you donā€™t letā€™s get dinner itā€™s a good one). Now here I am. I passed EdTPA, and Graduation is around the corner. I am so excited because I will have my own classroom in the fall. Yesterday I had to say goodbye to sweet students, amazing admins, and phenomenal teachers. I can not tell yā€™all just how grateful I am to have had the intern experience that I did. I was surrounded by some of the best teachers Iā€™ve ever met and students that I will never forget. I gained experience in areas that I wouldā€™ve never imagined. I grew and I was inspired. by @c.anne.s

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. As future teachers we have a lot of hoops we have to jump through for certification. One of those hoops is passing four Praxis tests (Math, Science, Social Studies, and Teaching Reading). Today I am glad to say that I have officially passed all of those tests! I am one step closer to internship in the spring! I only have a few more boxes to check off! ā¤ļø A special thanks to the people who said many prayers and talked me out of stressing while I waited for my scores. I am truly blessed beyond all measure. by @c.anne.s
As a homeschooler I never got to do a science fair! I am so thankful for @drshannondadd for allowing us to get hands on for our science final! by @c.anne.s

ā€œHey Charity! Are you alive? What have you been up to?ā€ if thatā€™s your question, this post is for you! This semester I was blessed with the opportunity to observe and teach lessons to a kindergarten classroom! Yesterday we learned about our national anthem, the American flag, and the battle at fort McHenry! We also did a science lesson about Alabama beach mice! We learned that they are nocturnal, that Alabama beaches are their habitat, and that they help sand duneā€˜s by dropping seeds and causing plant growth which holds the sand dunes together! The most fun part was the kiddos got to make their own sand duneā€˜s out of kinetic sand, aquarium plants, and (cat toy) mice! I absolutely loved teaching lessons that I wrote myself! It is a confidence booster to see your work put into action and turn out well! Over the past three weeks I have also had the opportunity to attend Alabama reading initiative training taught by @cat_lott Who is phenomenal in all the ways. Pictured first is everyone in my cohort along with Ms. Lott! (Did I mention I LOVE Troy University? ā¤ļø) @troyteachered by @c.anne.s

****IF you donā€™t want to know what God has been teaching me ... keep scrolling... if ya wanna read a book long post ...continue ... šŸ˜‰**** What ILLEGITIMATE thing are you holding onto as your source for something God wants to provide? Iā€™ve been convicted of this over the past few weeks. Iā€™m a MAJOR people person. I LOVE my people but sometimes I am guilty of putting my people on pedestals. (I mean they really are great!) hereā€™s the problem with this though. As great as any person is, that person does not have the ability to last on a pedestal. They will undoubtedly fall off of the pedestal because of their HUMANITY. The pedestal I put these people on is a pedestal that Christ designed for himself. He wants the permanent position as the only one on my pedestal. Here is where I am learning the balance! Having people is also part of Godā€™s design! He loves it when his people come together! He did not design us to do life on our own! The problem is not when we have people that we do life with. The problem is when we make those people the source of everything God wants to give us. Those people do not have an infinite amount of any of those things to give. No matter how much I want to be a never ending source of happiness for my friends, sometimes Iā€™m sad. I am human. I would never want someone to count on me to be their constant source of things that my humanness can not give. Because then they will be on a rollercoaster based on my humanness. God is the only one that can be a constant never dried up source. This does not mean however that you should no longer do life with these people. I think it is a WONDERFUL thing to recognize the gifts that God has given to your people. Itā€™s okay to recognize the people that make you happy, or has wise insight, or brings peace to your mind when youā€™re in turmoil. Those gifts are from God to that person! Itā€™s just important to recognize the difference between God being the source, using someone in your life and that person being the source. Itā€™s asking yourself who you go to first. Itā€™s asking yourself if you expect something constant from your people as if they should always be a flowing source of something that is humanly by @c.anne.s
