Nutter for all kinds of automotive obscurity, no matter what scale. And Porsches. Of course one has to love Porsches.

Okay, shall we end the workweek with a last round from the #kekkekarrentexelrally that took place last weekend? As I captured this one while competing in the chaos that rally is. Again just a “spot”, not a competing car. If one car in my youth would sum up “Nijmegen” best it’s the Renault 4 somehow. Nijmegen, also known as “Havana aan de Waal” to underline it’s left-wingyness, was packed with these in the ‘80’s. Often with the famous “kernenergie, nee bedankt” sticker. And somehow that image got stuck in my mind… Needless to say I adore the R4 nowadays after driving one for two weeks in Italy a few years ago. Driving up in the mountains surrounding Cortina d’Ampezzo, even meeting Nicola (@nicolafesta76) there for lunch. Driving all the way up there from Caorle which is situated 160km southwards on the Golfo di Venezia. Very capable cars I’d say. PS. Nicola also helped me out with the legal side of this week’s project: driving a car from Scicli (Sicily) to Düsseldorf with Michael (@m.cedda). Thanks Nicola & Michael! That trip of 2445kms wasn’t done with an R4 though. More on that later. Maybe… ____________________________ #vendredifrançais #frenchfriday #jjrenault #renault4 by @jobjoris
One more car we ran into during @kekkekarren’s “not anywhere near Texel rally“: a gorgeous 2nd gen Honda Prelude. The joke here’s on the one hubcap that seems to be from an Opel. But as our Dutch viewers may remember the Prelude (of course @citroenazu thanks) was used by “Bassie & Adriaan” so this combined with finding the car in Nijmegen… All makes sense. Terribly positioned for some decent shots somehow. Or I was just too stressed due to the rally being in full swing. And as we were driving Japanese ourselves (@robben.ronald and yours truly) I added the greenest “rallycar”/coffee machine ever in the last slide. ______________________________ #lajapdujeudi #jjhonda #hondaprelude #kekkekarrentexelrally #adriaantje by @jobjoris
#wagonwednesday after the #kekkekarrentexelrally (which, of course, was no where near Texel) can only be about this glorious Ford Taunus Turnier. Perfect for #workhorsewednesday as well actually. A true unicorn nowadays. When was the last time you saw one??? ___________________________ #jjford #fordtaunus by @jobjoris
Last Saturday was all about the #kekkekarrentexelrally again. And as @carsoftheweezenhof helped out a little, we saw all about the Weezenhof… I competed together with @robben.ronald and we brought the most environmentally friendly car I could find, as Nijmegen is a true green kinda city. Yes, running on hydrogen. But just outside Nijmegen I found this truly green gem. A Taunus 1.6L. A Fastback coupé bodytype makes it look totally awesome, ready for action. And it was some kinda first btw, taking our time to capture stuff like this during the rally. Usually I’m really interested in line honors. But spotting cars like this is also important. So thanks Bas for making a route that revealed gems like this. And thanks Daan for keeping the chaos alive! ________________________________ #fordtaunus #fastback #jjford #greenmachine by @jobjoris
Yesterday was all about getting coffee with @octane.magazine.nl at the @porschecentrumtwente. Which isn’t exactly in Twente but hey, this isn’t exactly a Porsche. Or is it? No matter what brand you’d call it: highly appealing. If BMW’s E30 Touring was the first lifestyle wagon, this Audi RS2, created with some Porsche support, might be the first hyperwagon. Going for quite the euros nowadays. Thanks @frankgoedhart.octane for creating yet another great gathering. And thanks Porsche Centrum Twente for not being actually in Twente as that would add another 45 minutes of travels probably. But mostly for showing your great company, I was truly impressed! ____________________________ #maultaschenmontag #jjaudi #audirs2 #audiavant #octanemagazine by @jobjoris
Can a site be more French? When doing some transportation with Stendert (@stendrt) through the streets of France we ran into the most French construction site ever. Apparently someone started to demolish a barn while there was still a Peugeot 404 inside? ______________________________ #vendredifrançais #frenchfriday #jjpeugeot #peugeot404 #barnfind by @jobjoris
A car I didn’t expect to see at the @venyardroosendaal junkyard: A Mitsubishi Sigma. Mitsubishi’s attempt to lure executives into their showrooms. And I didn’t expect it to turn up at a scrapyard because these are pretty rare but also the state the car was in: couldn’t exactly find a reason why the owner couldn’t fix the problem the car has, it looked way to good to be just ditched here… _____________________________ #lajapdujeudi #jjmitsubishi #mitsubishidiamante #mitsubishisigma #venyard by @jobjoris
Many people consider the Landrovers to be the best 4x4xfar. Yet they’re not entirely known to be reliable. A Porsche Cayenne is an SUV, with better reliability. And isn’t capable of going off-road. Or is it… @raymotion.nl has some tricks up their sleeve to change all this. Increased ride-height. Overlanding accessories. Decent tires. And there you go. Ready for action. I had the pleasure of using it last weekend during the @baronierijders Brabant Grens Rit together with Jelle (@jellevanuem). And became a huge fan: it just doesn’t stop. That GTS V8 sounds excellent and performs perfectly. Also got to try Benchmark hill and the only thing stopping the car there might be the weight. Excellent package. And no wonder there’s a waiting list at Ray’s for these. I’m gonna look for a GTS now… ____________________________ #offwoadwednesday #jjporsche #porschecayenne #streetsofbrabant #raymotion by @jobjoris
E30. BMW Motorsport colors. Warsteiner all over it. “M3” badge in grille and on trunk, awesome. But… where’s the fender-flares? Well, only a tribute? Maybe with a luscious M20B25 straight-six, definitely a good alternative. Sounds like a 4-banger though… Wait… It can’t be, can it? Yes, for both the Italian and Portugese market BMW made a 2000cc downsized M3, for fiscal reasons. The “320iS”. No fenderflares. But yes: S14. But “B20” instead of “B23”. Still 191hp (!!!). And, as production numbers are way lower than the regular M3: very special. It was even available as a 4-door, the ultimate sleeper. This one competed in last weekend’s “Brabant Grensrit”, organized by the @baronierijders. I competed as well, together with Jelle (@jellevanuem) but that’s for another day. Tomorrow. Probably. ______________________________ #teutonictuesday #jjbmw #bmwe30 #bmwmotorsport #320is by @jobjoris
Last week’s expedition with Ronald (@robben.ronald) to the @venyardroosendaal was excellent again. First we ran into Mees (@mees.heuij) dismantling a Volvo 360 for his own GLT project. And then, in that “special” corner… Heartbreaking. That’s all I felt. What monster let’s the most glorious Beta ever, the HPE, get this, well… sick? Maybe the owner just gave up on the brand after all success stories of the last few years. This way it still looks better than anything they made this decade. ____________________________ #macaronimonday #jjlancia #lanciabeta #hpe #pininfarina by @jobjoris
| #ThisIsWhyWePorsche PORSCHE 356 | A 1600 GS CARRERA GT Handled by Porsche Classic, this specific vehicle has more than 500,000 kilometers on its odometer. Porsche brought this legendary car back to the Italian capital. Former Le Mans overall winner and World Endurance Champion Marc Lieb drove it down the 2,000-year-old Via Appia and past the Colosseum to honor its historic racing lineage. Decals still affixed to the side windows serve as permanent badges of its motorsport achievements. “Jaune Cédrat”. Some of you noticed this one already last Tuesday in the Autobianchi Bianchina Panoramica post as it was in the backdrop of one of the pictures. And, and I think Bas (@carsoftheweezenhof) agrees with me: this is the best color on these. Fabulous. Fabuleux. Favolosa. Period. ______________________________ #vendredifrançais #frenchfriday #jjcitroën #streetsofsicily #citroendyane by @jobjoris
