1997 Lamborghini Diablo W16 Prototype 🇮🇹 One-Off Designed by Marcello Gandini🎖 #Lamborghini #LamborghiniDiablo #Diablo #LamborghiniDiabloW16 #conceptcar W16 (16 cylinders) 2 × VR8 blocks 8.0 Lt. 1,850 HP Turbo's : 4 Torque : 1,250 Nm Top speed : 440 km/h At first glance a Lamborghini Diablo, and that is what it is. Until you look at the car in detail. Many parts are not quite right. This is the test vehicle for the development of the W16 engine. The power unit is mounted centrally in the architecture. During development there was already an engine block, but no car yet. Since Lamborghini and Bugatti were sister brands, the development department took the Italian flagship model. The rear end has been raised and the left rear light is missing to make room for a radiator. Incidentally, the first design studio models of the Veyron were also built on the basis of the Diablo. This is the beating heart of the “Beasts of Bugatti”: the 8.0-liter W16 engine with four turbochargers. In the Veyron, this engine produces 1,001 hp, while in the Bolide, using special fuel, it produces as much as 1,850 hp. You would hardly believe that this immense powertrain is housed in the rear of the hypercar. The power unit itself measures only 71 cm in length and weighs 490 kg. It consists of approximately 3,700 components. The W16 propels the Veyron to 407 km/h, while in the Chiron Super Sport 300+ you can reach an incredible 440 km/h. We won't even talk about fuel consumption. The sound of the engine overwhelms the sound of the vortex in the fuel tank. by @lambolog

1986 Peugeot Proxima Concept 🇫🇷 One-Off Designed by Gerard Welter🎖 #Peugeot #PeugeotProxima #conceptcar #cardesign #peugeotsport PROXIMA: THE FUTURE HAS ARRIVED Proxima is not just another “fantasy” car, a mere styling exercise with a career that begins and ends at a Motor Show. On the contrary, it is an experimental prototype, a genuine example of Peugeot’s most advanced technological expertise. USE OF HI-TECH/COMPOSITE MATERIALS The Proxima body is built of laminated epoxy kevlar. The front/rear drive shaft and ventilated brake discs are made of carbon fibre which is both tougher and lighter than metal and corrosion-free. The polycarbonate cockpit canopy covers an interior which is trimmed throughout in specially treated leather to give a strikingly uniform appearance. Cooling of the occupants under the large canopy, when the vehicle is at rest, is assured by solar energy. AN ULTRA-SOPHISTICATED ENGINE Proxima is propelled by a 24-valve 2850cc V6 with twin turbo-chargers developing 600 bhp (PS-DIN) and 448 lb.ft. maximum torque (DIN). by @lambolog

2005 Maybach Exelero Concept 🇩🇪 One-Off Designed by Fredrik Burchardt🎖 #Maybach #maybachexelero #conceptcar #cardesign #automotivephotography The Maybach Exelero model is a product of the collaboration between the tire brand Fulda and the Maybach manufactory , and is based on the Maybach 57 chassis, upon which the sports coupé was built. The vehicle's design comes from Fredrik Burchhardt, while the bodywork was handled by the Turin-based prototype builder Stola. The car was first presented in 2005 at the Tempodrom in Berlin – and subsequently at the IAA in Frankfurt. The exclusive vehicle itself, fitted with 315/25 ZR 23 tires, was used for high-speed testing at the Nardó racetrack in Italy, where the Exelero surpassed the required 350 km/h on only its second attempt, reaching a speed of 351.45 km/h (standardized according to the FIA test procedure). The acceleration of the 2,730-kilogram vehicle was a remarkable 4.4 seconds. The 5.89-meter-long vehicle is powered by a 515 kW gasoline engine. The standard V12 model was further enlarged from 5.6 to 5.9 liters for use in the Exelero, now boasting 700 hp and 1,020 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted via a 5-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle's width is 2,140 mm, its height 1,390 mm, and its wheelbase 3,390 mm. by @lambolog
