ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT: MARK “JUNIOR” McGOWAN 🏆

Congratulations to Junior for winning MVP of the entire Desert Showcase and leading the 760 Valley Boys to the 14U Sevens Tournament Championship as their starting quarterback.

If you know Junior, then you know this journey was not easy for him, even from birth. If you know his backstory, you know he’s had to overcome adversity, being doubted, bullied, picked on, and facing trials that so many kids go through growing up.

But instead of folding, he kept showing up.

From where he started to where he’s at now is a true testament to hard work, discipline, dedication, and mental resilience. Day after day, he committed himself to rewiring his body, sharpening his mind, and building belief within himself.

That’s what this is really about.

At Category 5 Training, we believe every child has greatness inside of them. Sometimes they just need the right environment, structure, mentorship, and belief around them to unlock their full potential.

We are not only building athletes, we are helping shape these kids into who they are truly meant to become.

We love you Junior! We’re proud of you! Keep going. 🌪️

Your best season is your best off-season.

🌴 C5 SUMMER PROGRAM THAT’S A WRAP! 🌊☀️

What a way to finish the summer! We took the crew out to Palm Springs Surf Club to celebrate all the work they put in throughout our Summer Program. 💪🏽🌪️

All summer these kids showed up, trained, competed, learned, got uncomfortable, built confidence, made new friends and most importantly HAD FUN DOING IT.

Today wasn’t about reps, drills or workouts. Today was about letting them be KIDS and celebrating what they accomplished. 💦😂

Shoutout to every kid who completed the entire program! YOU EARNED THIS! And even to the ones who couldn’t make it all the way through, we’re proud of the work you put in while you were with us. Every rep counts. Every day counts. Every experience is part of the development.

Big shoutout to Palm Springs Surf Club for helping us send the summer off the right way! 🙏🏽🌴🌊

This is what Category 5 is about. Train them. Develop them. Challenge them. Mentor them. And create memories with them along the way.

Summer 2026 in the books. 📚✅
Until next summer… 🌪️❤️ by @c5excellence_
