Miss you @aaron.arc 😭 by @cactuscactusband

Finally getting some air after a mad month of touring with @cactuscactusband and @crystalmrr so I wanted to give a little shout to the little beast I had with me all tour, the @arturia_official Astrolab 👽

The 37 key variant was such a godsent for soooo many reasons that I’ll share in a later video. But for now, the fact that its a way more portable version of my busted up MS20 (iykyk), while also doing a zillion more sounds like the farfisa, rhodes, moog and the mellotron, its definitely given my 12-string a run for its money when it comes to putting the psych in Cactus Cactus’ sound 🍄

I’ve also not had any trouble replicating the various off-kilter sounds of Crystal Murray’s sonically-dynamic songs with this synth, so hats off to this little mf for that

I will also acknowledge that I’ve barely touched this synth’s iceberg on this post, so look out for a follow up video where I dive into how it’s has saved me from so much tour woes, amongst other things.

In the meantime, enjoy these shots where the synth has given me a chance to farm some aura 🚬😎

SAMPAI JUMPA NANTI, LET’S PARTY🤘🏼 by @cactuscactusband

Can independent spaces sustain themselves? In Episode 4 of BACKLINES, we look at the quiet labour behind running @sunroomstudios.sg—the people keeping its doors open, often with money earned elsewhere. Together with @cactuscactusband, many of whom run initiatives of their own, they share various learnings from time overseas, observations around incubative third spaces, and moving stories of a community that takes turns to open doors for one another. Full video out now on YouTube. Link in bio.

Special thanks to @camerarentalcentre.sg for their support of this series.
