One year ago I made this video after complete chaos unfolded at KTXS.

In the moment, we had no idea what happened. Now we know the damage was caused by a microburst with 90mph winds.

Today, I revisited the video… I couldn’t sleep when I got home that night, so I did what journalists do— found the story.

When I pulled my phone out to record, I wasn’t thinking about what it turn into, but I ended up capturing the raw emotion of seeing the damage for the first time.

The garage where I was standing was completely destroyed mere seconds after I moved.

Grateful to be here and thankful for my coworkers and this community who stood behind us❤️‍🩹#texas #weather #severeweather #meteorologist #anniversary by @caidendinkins

I’m truly honored to step into the role of Chief Meteorologist at KTXS! I never imagined I’d have the privilege to serve as Chief so early in my career. When this opportunity came about and I was encouraged by my management, I knew it would be silly to not go for it. It’s a responsibility I do not take lightly.

I’m excited to continue bringing dependable weather coverage to our area and representing the fewer than 10% of female chief meteorologists nationwide! ❤️

Severe storms likely TONIGHT (10/14), then again TOMORROW (10/15). ⛈️Heavy rain will be a main threat along with gusty winds and hail.

The cold front then brings us chilly temps by Friday!! #texas #meteorologist #news #severeweather #westtexas by @caidendinkins
