Have you tried scraping your bowl with a spatula whilst whisking? Easier than you’d think and pretty satisfying.

There’s so much more that goes into “just a little cupcake.”

You’re seeing the piping, sprinkles, closing the boxes and tying the ribbons. Behind that is folding each box, cutting ribbon, punching business cards, making the batter, baking, making buttercream and delivering.

From beginning to end, every step gets my time, care and attention. Even the smallest details matter to me.

Making black buttercream 🖤

This video is sped up 5x only because I’m using a crappy immersion blender 👎🏼 usually it’s about 2-3mins if not less.

This is the fastest and most effective way to achieve dark colours #imo with an immersion blender.

I’ve tried the microwave method, adding more food colour, but it’s not the same and not as fast.

If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favour and save time and a headache with this method.

Teachers deserve a little sweetness, too.

World Teachers’ Day is October 5, and it’s a chance to thank the people who show up every day with patience, encouragement, and a whole lot of heart.

It doesn’t have to be a big gesture. Even a small thank-you can mean so much. A note, a kind word, or a sweet treat lets them know their hard work is noticed and appreciated.

This year, Cakes by Emily K has two chocolate chip cookie cake specials, finished with vanilla buttercream and a “Thank you” message:

5” mini cookie cake: $15
A little treat for one wonderful teacher.

10” cookie cake: $45
A sweet thank-you for the teacher and a treat to share with the class.

Both come gift boxed with a thank-you tag, ready to give.

Order by October 3.
Pickup in Brampton on October 4 or 5.

DM me to order, and let’s give our teachers a little love!

It’s Wednesday and she’s giving hump day attitude.

A little side-eye, a bold red rose moment, and absolutely no interest in your midweek nonsense.

I loved bringing this beauty to life. Clean buttercream, black line art and deep red roses. Simple details with plenty of personality.

Anyone else wearing this exact expression today?

I’ve been playing around with all the flavours I love this time of year: chai, apple, pumpkin, chocolate and plenty of cinnamon. Here’s what I’m putting together for Thanksgiving!

Thankful Cookie Box | $36
Six decorated cookies in two flavours: three chai vanilla and three cinnamon brown sugar. They’ll have the fall designs you see here, so they’re pretty enough to bring as a gift or put straight on the dessert table.

Harvest Cupcake Box | $39
Six cupcakes, with three pumpkin spice cupcakes topped with cinnamon buttercream and three chocolate chai cupcakes. A little cozy, a little chocolatey, and something for the pumpkin lovers too.

Thanksgiving Dessert Box | $55
This one is made for sharing. You’ll get six cinnamon Biscoff cookies, six brown butter chocolate chip cookies, and four chocolate-dipped pretzel rods finished with cinnamon sugar crunch. Sixteen treats in one box, although I can’t promise the cookies will make it to the dinner table.

Mini Pumpkin Cake | $70
A 5-inch cake decorated to look like a little pumpkin, with apple cinnamon cake and caramel buttercream inside. I love the idea of cutting into the pumpkin and finding apple cake!

Whether you’re hosting, bringing dessert, or just want a box of fall treats at home, send me a DM with what you’d like and how many. Pickup is in Brampton.

These images are concept mockups, so the finished decorations may vary a little. The flavours and treats listed above are what you’re ordering.

If you know Alicia, you know she doesn’t just throw a party. She thinks of everything. Every little detail is so well thought out, and somehow she always finds a way to go above and beyond.

I made this cake for her party back in 2023, and she gave me SO much to play with. We went full 80s: a boombox, cassette tapes, neon drips, a little disco sparkle, chunky gold chains, retro earrings and pink sneakers. Then came all the throwback treats, from Pop Rocks and bubble tape to lollipops and candy tucked into every corner.

I kept finding one more thing to add, which honestly felt very Alicia. There’s so much going on with this cake, and that’s exactly why I love it. Which detail did you spot first? 🪩

“It was all a dream…” 🎶

And then it turned into this 90s birthday cookie set! The cassette tapes, graffiti, gold chains and little boombox were so much fun to make. I might have had Juicy playing the whole time. 🤭

Custom treats aren’t just for birthdays! I also create branded treats for offices, events, grand openings and client gifts.

I love my corporate clients! Getting to turn their branding into something sweet is always fun, and it means so much when they trust me with their events and keep coming back for the next one. Thank you for supporting my small business while I create a little something for yours!
