Mrs. Busy Body ❣️ by @caleigh_sladek

If you had told me a year ago that today I would be raising, showing, and selling a steer of my own, I wouldn’t have believed you. I had no idea that stepping into this journey would be nothing short of the hardest things I’ve ever done and somehow, the greatest blessing of my life. These 8 months tested me in ways I didn’t know I needed. There were days full of frustration, doubt, and moments where my confidence felt completely shaken. Days where nothing went right and I wondered if I made the wrong decision. But there were also days filled with growth, joy, laughter, and quiet moments with Clifford that meant more to me than I can explain. He pushed me far outside my comfort zone and taught me responsibility, perseverance, patience, and how to keep showing up even when it felt easier not to. I learned that joy doesn’t always come from big wins, sometimes it’s found in the smallest victories like, finally halter breaking a stubborn steer, or ending a day doing homework in his pen, or standing outside the ring holding Savannah’s halter, and my absolute favorite memory of all, giving Clifford his very last apple after a small, but incredibly fulfilling win of first in class at PCYF. Those moments changed me. Walking away from this steer is bittersweet in a way I never expected. But I wouldn’t trade a single early morning, a single last-in-class placing, a single lesson learned, or a single apple eaten.
Thank you Clifford
