POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi! My name is Callie 👋

Re-introducing myself for those who maybe don't know why the "whatever" in my handle.

Why "whatever"? Two reasons...

1. I do whatever I feel, I want, I need to do. I'm not one style. Sometimes it's dynamic. Sometimes it's a single pose. It can be flowy and soft. Or it can be rock and screamo. It's going to be whatever I feel like doing.

2. Whatever I do is good enough. Mistakes I make will be whatever: something to learn from but not something to berate myself over. We hesitate over if what we do is enough to share on here. I dealt with disordered thinking for over 10 years and forced myself to be whatever I thought other people wanted. Now I'm whatever I want to be.

I encourage you to celebrate the wins, the success, the almost-got-its. It's all leading to something uniquely your own.

Thank you to those in the community that provide space and community for me to try, grow and play.

At first it's like I'm taunting "the competition". I blow a cheeky kiss from above cause you can't catch me. I'll stare you down. I'll kick and punch my way through.

Who is "the competition"?

Myself. I'm not taunting, I'm psyching myself up in the mirror. The kiss, it was love.

The competition was me but I love and believe in myself. Being here is my victory.

🪞

I put *a lot* of pressure on myself. So much it became the narrative to the routine.
Pressure to top my first competition. To be impressive. To prove it wasn't a one time thing.
I really wanted to compete and do well again.
That wasn't always the most helpful framing and I had to constantly remind myself: desire to do my best was good, the comparison was not helpful.
I had a string of injuries that limited my flexibility during training.
The self doubt was high.

This was a narrative I felt I had to do.
It felt cheesy, but necessary.
It's not something I want to perform again.
But something that I had to express at that time.

I'm grateful for the experience and the growth it brought.

Shoutout to my girls, who kept me positive and supported me 🩷. To @polefitnessacademyottawa ❤️. And to my partner who supported through early mornings, crafting supplies everywhere and more 💋. by @callie.whatever.pole
