Pa' las bichiyaleeees. 💋

Quiere perreo, memoria y Caribe.

🔥💋 by @camelanin

2025 really said: "Hold my cup a second, imma test this little queen here!". And I definitely did not see it coming.

Meant in the worst and best ways.

Because rock bottom means that the mountain peak is next.
Because tough times reveal who to keep - and who to loose.
Because beauty and love can be found in the ugliest of disasters.

Grief and growth. What a pair.

I don't think that I've ever been as happy to see a year end before and still, I have to honor the fact that I survived - and yes, even thrived as much as I could.

In 2025 I won a literal war with (and between) Austrian/German "Behörden" at the cost of my physical and psychological sanity.
I fought myself through a completely broken and dysfunctional health system that failed to properly diagnose my injury.
I learned to actively choose my personal wellbeing over my projects and work.
I took a biiiiig step out of my comfort zone and asked for help - really asked - for the first few times in my life.
I had my very first major surgery.
And, I started the process of learning to LITERALLY walk again.

I don't have the words to express my gratitude for those who witnessed this year first hand and kept supporting, holding, and elevating me - and for those who continue to be patient with me while I'm still a little MIA and out of reach.

Especially: My wifey who immediately got a wheelchair and took me to KdK25. My bestie who was always ready to join my fight against racist medical staff. A new friend who unconditionally did my groceries. My soulsister who opened her doors when I needed to leave as my world crumbled apart. My cousin who helped me win my joy and perspective back. My aunt for coming all the way from Miami to pamper me post surgery. My mom for her unconditional love and moral support through it all.

You're all in my heart forever.

2026?
Game on, bitch.
Catch me if you can.

Welcome to yet another PSA on @badbunnypr's legendary album drop "DeBÍ TiRAR MàS FOToS".

Many of us resonate deeply with two of the songs: "LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii" & "DtMF". But I'm not sure we all share an understanding of the political meaning behind the lyrics, beyond our collectively felt nostalgia & despair.

Mi gente, we urgently need to have this conversation.

In "LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii" (What happened to Hawaii) el conejo 🐇 explicitly critiques US policy, highlighting the negligence & disenfranchisement of the Puerto Rican people. At the same time, it's impossible to ignore how also domestic policies have compounded their suffering. In "DtMF", he mourns the losses faced by those forced to leave because of the aforementioned circumstances, the pain of separation, & the longing for more memories with our loved ones.

These realities have touched his fellow boricuas & beyond. I, as la hija de mi mamá cubana, feel deeply seen. And judging by my feed, I am not alone. Within this interconnectedness of Puerto Rican & Cuban realities lies my perspective: Both of our peoples have suffered US colonialism, imperialism & oppression, domestic corruption & inefficiency, and mass exoduses. Bad Bunny's orchestration of these truths and the multitude of responses uncovers how the struggles of those who were left behind & of us living in the diaspora are intertwined. We all carry scars & wounds left by systemic violence.

And it's likely about to get worse.

In less than two weeks, Donald Trump will be sworn in for his second term as US president. His continuous ignorance towards Puerto Rico & his hardline policies on Cuba will likely deepen civilian hardships & vulnerabilities on our islas bellas. Yet, many Cuban US-Americans voted for him, believing that heteronomy & intervention will somehow lead Cuba to freedom.

Mi gente, this cannot be the path for our people. The fates of Puerto Rico & Hawaii are no models for liberation!

Disclaimer: While I stand by an anti-capitalist and anti-colonial vision that recognizes resilience in the face of imperialism, I'm also *very* critical of the idealization and romanticization of Cuban politics by Immortal Technique. by @camelanin

Diaspora.

So here we go … ✨

#staytuned 👀
