This was a really great emotional film! La Sociedad de la Nieve stars a Uruguayan rugby team, their friends and family that take a flight to Santiago, Chile, but unfortunately, the plane crash lands in the Andes Mountains. Now they have to survive in a very harsh climate and with no sign of help from the outside world. This film was truly emotional. Going into this film knowing a little bit of the actual events wasn’t enough to prepare me for what the film showcased. The cast did a great job in playing the real life people that had to go through this situation. The panic and terrified performances really made me feel scared and I couldn’t imagine how these people went through this event. Each moment of the film truly made you feel like there were moments of hope, but suddenly followed by another disaster the survivors needed to adapt to or fix. It keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering if they will survive and escape the mountains. The cinematography of the film was truly amazing and the shots were all well made. Some of my favorite shots were with all the people being in the same frame next to the crashed plane and some being right in front of the lens. It really shows the emotions that they were going through and it made me feel uncomfortable which I think was one of the intentions of the movie. I also think it was a good decision by the crew to add the names of everyone who died in the event. I think it is important to remember people’s names due to their sudden and tragic passing and by adding them in any form of film or media, it can pay respects to those who passed and their family and friends. Overall, this was a really great film that kept me on the edge of my seat and really made me feel emotional with how the survivors got through the event. I recommend you check it out and let me know what you all think! #lasociedaddelanieve #netflix by @cameraheadreviews

This was an interesting concept, but did I think it pulled it off pretty well? Leave The World Behind stars Julia Roberts as Amanda, a woman working in advertising that decides to go on a small vacation with her family when suddenly weird activities start occurring and two strangers appear at the air bnb they stay at. The concept of the film is that there is a big cyberattack that is taking over the United States and different things start occurring such as the internet being completely shut down and animals migrating in large groups. It definitely was suspenseful and it kept me wondering why things are happening. However, it didn’t completely engage me, but rather kept me questioning a lot of the film to the point where I was not completely impressed with the plot. I was thinking to myself a lot what the hell was going on and I was trying to grasp how all the different elements of the cyberattack contribute to each other. Some elements of the cyberattack such as the animals migrating randomly was something that was just odd for me and didn’t see how it contributed to the plot. A lot of the characters were not interesting to me such as Ruth played by Myha’la Herrold. Throughout the entire film I didn’t really feel engaged with her personal conflict since she immediately is dislikeable in the beginning. She would ask weird questions towards Amanda and her family which would begin weird tension that honestly wasn’t necessary. I do like the performances from the cast though even if some of the characters I didn’t find likeable. The cast had some really notable actors and actresses such as Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali, and Kevin Bacon and their acting was pretty good. I do like some of the cinematography choices in the film such as a lot of static shots which I think makes the tension in the story appear more uncomfortable in a good way. Overall, there were good things about this movie and bad things about this movie. I think it was a film that was split down the middle in terms of its enjoyability, its tension and its suspense. Let me know what you all think about the film! by @cameraheadreviews

Holy crap this movie was disappointing. Escape Plan 2: Hades stars Sylvester Stallone as Ray Breslin who runs a team of people that test out the world’s most high security prisons, but when one of his elite team members gets captured, they must figure out…an escape plan. First off, I should say that I remember being a fan of the first movie when it came out in 2013. It was an interesting concept to me and I thought it was fun, especially with both Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, this film was the complete opposite. It was not fun at all for me. It was funny for the wrong reasons. For example, the special effects from this movie were not that great such as the explosions and the shock effect that is set off on the prisoners when they are out of control. It just looked out of place and they could have done a better job with those effects. Also, the inclusion of Sylvester Stallone and Dave Bautista in the film felt unnecessary because you barely get to see them. I thought Dave Bautista was going to be included for a majority of the film but I barely saw him do anything, which sucks because he’s just a cool character and he’s a good actor. Sylvester Stallone also felt like he wasn’t in the film as much as he should and instead he was replaced with the captured team member Shu Ren played by Xiaoming Huang. He wasn’t a bad inclusion, but it’s just the fact that Sylvester Stallone is the main character but you barely see him, which makes it confusing for me. The action scenes were okay but nothing too grand. Overall, this wasn’t a good movie for me and it was disappointing considering the fun action in the 2013 film. (No music this time since the soundtrack isn’t on Instagram haha) by @cameraheadreviews

Not going to lie, I enjoyed this one better. The Twilight Saga: New Moon stars Kirsten Stewart as Bella Swan as we see her again with her continuing relationship with Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). However, something in Edward’s life seems to get too dangerous for him to be around Bella and decides to leave her and the town, leaving her depressed. That’s when she decides to build on her relationship with her friend, Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Continuing the Twilight franchise, I honestly enjoyed this film better than the last one. Jacob’s inclusion was more interesting to me than Edward’s. However, this film still has a lot of awkward dialogue that just makes you cringe and laugh unintentionally. I was laughing at a particular line in the movie theater scene that just sounded so funny to me. For those who don’t know about this franchise, Jacob is a werewolf and the CGI for the transformation isn’t too bad, but the film still has the weird effects for the vampires which haven’t changed much. I also have to mention again that Bella’s behavior towards many events of the film was so over the top that I couldn’t root for her or her decisions sometimes. The climactic part of the film was pretty interesting and I was curious what may happen but I kept thinking to myself that her relationship with Edward was still so weird to me. At least the ending of the film starts the love triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob…I can’t believe I just said that. I also couldn’t believe that the film gave us a cliffhanger and I actually told myself, “don’t end the movie like that…oh you actually ended the movie like that.” Like I cannot believe I actually cared a bit for the cliffhanger. Overall, I enjoyed this film more than the last one, but still, it was laughable at points where it wasn’t meant to be and the relationship between characters is just awkward. However, I gotta keep going and end the series. I also have to mention that this was the first film of 2024 for me and I cannot wait to give you all more reviews for this year! by @cameraheadreviews

This film was wild! Saltburn stars Barry Keoghan as Oliver, an introverted and shy student, who becomes friends with a rich student, Felix, played by Jacob Elordi. Felix decides to invite Oliver to his home over the summer after learning about Oliver’s unfortunate life events, but things start to take a weird turn for the worse. This was a very strange film. It was getting me confused so many times while watching it, but after reflecting on the film more, I think the parts that were confusing me were meant to happen and throw me off. Following Oliver, everything seems okay but the more the film progresses, the more horrifying things occur. There were so many scenes where my jaw dropped for five minutes straight because I did not expect some scenes to be so explicit in a way. If you all watch the film, you will understand which scenes I’m referring to. Nevertheless, the film keeps you in suspense throughout and I didn’t lose interest. Even with story points I was confused about, I still wanted to know what was going on or what other crazy thing was going to happen. The film’s cast was great and each character felt unique. Barry Keoghan was definitely the standout of the film and he delivered a great performance. He was a character I didn’t expect and a character that completely shocked me by the end. The way they showed the themes of social classes I thought was strange but I can see the direction they were going for. I say it’s strange due to Oliver’s complexity, but regardless, it was creative and kept you in suspense. I also have to mention the cinematography of the film which I think was great. There were a lot of shots where I kept thinking how great it looked with so many people in the frame yet making you pay attention to a specific spot. Also, the setting of the film which was mostly Felix and his family’s house was gorgeous and elegant to look at combined with the great cinematography. I also have to mention that although this is very minor, the design of the title card was awesome and I immediately liked it. Overall, the more I think about it, the film was very interesting and suspenseful and I had a good time. Check it out! by @cameraheadreviews

…oh boy here we go. Twilight stars Kirsten Stewart as Bella Swan who moves to a new state and doesn’t feel like she’ll fit in. However, she meets a mysterious person named Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, who Bella finds out is a vampire and a romance ensues. I have never seen anything in the Twilight franchise ever since they came out and I never thought I would until now. I have to start off and say that the dialogue for the most part was not good and felt awkward. It made me giggle and laugh at how the characters spoke and I couldn’t take it seriously. The special effects for the vampire powers were weird too, especially with their enhanced speed. The vampires running fast just looked like they sped up the footage in editing. There was also a specific scene of Edward and Bella climbing a tree which was just funny to me. The romance between Bella and Edward I just couldn’t get into and it was leaving me shocked with how Bella was so easily attracted to Edward even after he described himself as being a vampire, which are known to kill people and suck their blood. Something that I did enjoy a bit was the fight scene at the end. It was kind of cool but it wasn’t something spectacular. I also was expecting Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black to appear much more in the film but I have to wait in the next one. Overall, the film wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. I’ll now have to check out the rest of the movies to see how the whole story wraps up. by @cameraheadreviews

My goodness this movie was great! Ponyo stars Hiroki Doi as Sôsuke (Frankie Jonas in the English version) where he encounters a fish princess who he names Ponyo, voiced by Yuria Nara (Noah Cyrus in the English version). Ponyo is attracted to Sôsuke and wants to become human, but will she ever accomplish this desire with her father preventing her from this decision? Miyazaki once again delivers a beautifully animated and colorful film. That was what attracted me to the film right away. The animation was amazing and there was a specific frame of Ponyo running on waves that I completely fell in love with. It’s so dynamic and detailed and you can’t help but smile at. The character design for Ponyo is just so adorable and the designs of Fujimoto and Granmamare are very colorful and unique. The comedic moments between Sôsuke and Ponyo are adorable and you can really see the friendship and relationship grow throughout the film. Not only are those two characters great, but the other cast members do a great job in adding to the themes of love and growing up in the story. I watched the English version and Fujimoto voiced by Liam Neeson was great with how protective he wants to be for Ponyo and Tina Fey as Lisa was awesome with how much she wants to take care of Sôsuke and have a happy marriage with her husband Kôichi, voiced by Matt Damon. The themes of love and friendship and growing up in the film are heartwarming and it definitely makes you feel happy by the end of the film. Overall, this was yet another great animated film by Hayao Miyazaki that I definitely recommend you check out! by @cameraheadreviews
