A little reminder to ourselves, and perhaps a few fellow hosts, that we don’t have to play every game to be successful ✌🏼

NOTE: this carousel was written before the recent Airbnb house rules changes & over the course of two weeks, so it’s not a reaction to that. Just a timely reminder that we’ve been rethinking what success looks like for us, and what we’re ready to let go of.

What’s something you are giving up on in order to liberate yourself? by @candlebarkridge

At just 1.6m x 2.3m, it’s not exactly spacious – but somehow it’s become one of our favourite little corners of CBR ✨🚿

Proof that tranquility doesn’t need much room.

I’ve always felt there’s something almost spiritual about watching the sunrise over the ocean. The stillness, the light, the feeling that, for a brief moment, everything is exactly as it should be.

Since losing my beloved soul dog earlier this year, those moments have taken on a whole new meaning. Watching the sun rise over our favourite place on earth — the East Coast of Tasmania — makes me feel connected to him in a way I can’t explain.

There’s something comforting, almost sacred, about making the small sacrifice of rising before the sun, just so I can wish him a good morning somewhere beyond the horizon.

It feels like a little ritual. A way to honour his memory and remind myself that love doesn’t simply disappear when someone has gone.

What connects you with nature? Is there a place, a ritual or a memory that makes you feel that little bit closer to something beyond yourself? by @candlebarkridge

We’ve all heard of a ‘must-do’ list, but at Candlebark Ridge, we prefer a might-do list.

Might go for an adventure… might stay in bed.
Might read a book… might have a nap instead.
Might cook a wholesome meal… might eat strawberries and sip champagne 🍓🥂

There are so many ways you might choose to spend your time here.

And the best part? You don’t actually have to do a thing.

No witty caption. Just a tiny home, sitting on a hillside, surrounded by an abundance of nature 🌲 by @candlebarkridge

Wake up to fluorescent skies, watching the sunrise from bed. Welcome to Candlebark Ridge, hidden in the foothills above Tasmania’s east coast 🌅

Every good production needs a star performer ✨ at Candlebark Ridge, it’s seemingly ALL about the super comfy king bed 🙌🏼

One of our most FAQ’s from guests is, “Where did you get that mattress??? It was the best sleep we have had in YEARS!” 🫠

Yes, the mattress and topper are super plush and comfortable - but we think the panoramic views of the ocean and neighbouring native bushland, the electric roller blinds, and the feeling of floating on clouds is what makes the bed feel like HEAVEN ON EARTH ☁️

So, for those who have stayed so far, or those who have us added to the bucket list - tell us, how can we make this dreamy bed experience even better for future guests? 😊

We’d love to know your thoughts! 👇🏼💭 by @candlebarkridge

Tasmania does winter mornings differently.

Wild coastlines, crisp air, ocean views and a steaming bath as the sun rises 🌅

We think this is how slow mornings should feel.

And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting @daniellemuralt & @isaac___mc at Candlebark Ridge.

They perfectly captured the still winter mornings and dreamy golden afternoons over a long weekend ✨

We love collaborating with, and showcasing, local Australian creatives. It’s great seeing different perspectives of CBR, and how people capture it 📷

After our last post about Airbnb’s pricing and fee changes, one topic kept coming up in the comments...

“How do I set up direct bookings?”

The truth is, we’re no experts. We’re still learning ourselves. But over the past couple of years, we’ve found a few tools and strategies that have worked well for us (so far), so we thought we’d share them in case they help someone else take that first step.

We’d love to hear your thoughts, ideas and experiences 🫶🏼 by @candlebarkridge
