Our thoughts and prayers are with Nepal.

The recent flash floods and mudslides along the Nepal–China Tibet border have devastated communities, leaving families facing loss, displacement, and uncertainty.

Thankfully, our Nepal team and locations have not been affected. But the flood epicenter is only 40 kilometers from our Kathmandu office, bringing the impact of this tragedy close to home.

As we always do, we immediately considered acting right away. After careful consideration by our local and international teams, however, we decided it was best to briefly pause while government agencies and other organizations closer to the affected areas respond. We are awaiting further clarity from our partners so we can identify where we can best help fill the gaps.

Our plan is to raise funds for essential needs that may not be fully covered, including emergency food, shelter, clothing, medical supplies, and clean water, as well as longer-term family recovery support.

Once we are ready to respond, we will move with urgency and direct support toward the greatest needs and gaps we can identify on the frontline. As always, we will also provide updates and feedback on what we are able to achieve through people’s generosity.

In times like these, the most disadvantaged—including women and children—can be especially vulnerable.

If you feel compelled to help, you can support our Stop Trafficking 5K Nepal Flash Flood Emergency Relief campaign. You can start helping affected families get back on their feet from AUD 25/USD 16, with different giving options available to support various emergency and recovery needs.

Meet Julia.

When financial difficulties forced her to stop going to school, Julia had to put her education on hold to help her family.

But through the Manila Slum Program, she got the chance to start again. With support from the program, she completed Grade 10 through the Alternative Learning System (ALS) and returned to formal schooling.

Today, she's in Grade 11 and working toward her goal of finishing high school.

Her story reminds us that sometimes, changing a future starts with giving someone the chance to continue where they left off.

What makes a chicken farming program work?

For Mosuo, it wasn’t simply having 20 chicks to raise. It was having the training, resources, and ongoing support to care for them well—and the confidence to keep going when challenges came.

Her story shows what happens when families are equipped with more than a starting point.

A microloan can do more than fund a business.

Through the My Business-My Freedom Microfinance Program, women can access capital to strengthen livelihoods they already know and build toward greater financial stability for their families.

Ganga’s story is one example of what that opportunity can make possible.

You know your child's classmates, their favorite activities, and who they spend time with after school. But what about the people and communities they connect with online? Swipe through these questions and consider which conversations you could start at home.

You don't need to know every app or understand every trend. What matters is showing genuine interest and helping your child feel safe coming to you when they need guidance.

At Captivating International, we help create safer online spaces for children through awareness and prevention.

Good news from the field: awareness is opening up important conversations!

Across Nepal and the Philippines, our programs are helping communities better understand the risks of exploitation and creating space for people to speak up.

The response from participants and local partners has been encouraging—and it’s showing us why these conversations matter.

Swipe through for two recent examples of prevention in action.

At Captivating International, we work alongside local partners to strengthen communities and help prevent exploitation before it happens.
