Now that I have your attention…last day of early voting!

Get to it.

😛🤣 by @capturingdestiny

I get to do this. At this age, in this season of my life. 🤍

In high school, I took an EMT course and convinced myself I’d miss something during a head-to-toe assessment and ruin someone’s life forever. Sigh. I was sooo dramatic LOL. But that fear stayed with me.

Recently, I passed my head-to-toe assessment in nursing school. Y’all, that was more than a skills check. I did something I’d convinced myself I couldn’t do. 🥹

If you’re starting over or doing something that scares you, give yourself a chance. Who you were back then doesn’t decide what you’re capable of now.

We get to do this. 🤍

My why 💪🏾 by @capturingdestiny

First or second week of nursing school (I can’t remember lol), we were learning about deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Crazyyyy enough, a loved one was experiencing those very symptoms.

A reminder that sometimes we know more than we think we do. 🥹

A little health awareness:

DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis): A blood clot, usually in the leg. Signs include one-sided swelling, pain, warmth, or redness.

PE (Pulmonary Embolism): When a clot travels to the lungs. Sudden shortness of breath or chest pain? Call 911!

Embolus = it kept cutting off, but the full word that I have been saying of what breaks off is called an embolus.

I’m still a nursing student, not a doctor, so always consult your healthcare provider. Just sharing what I’m learning! ❤️

I think we’re taught to look the part. Never let them see you sweat. Be the star of the show.

I’ve personally found success differently. Being able to make the person in front of you the star. Your life blooms in the best way.

Still learning but hope it blessed. 😘 by @capturingdestiny

“Nobody wants to show you the hours and hours of becoming. They’d rather show the highlight of what they’ve become.”

Why do I share so freely? Or perhaps the better question is how do I share with discernment?

Needless to say, I’m not a pop-out-and-show-them kinda girl. My life isn’t a performance. It’s a journey of becoming and unbecoming.

To believe in yourself enough to leave what you know and pursue a vision of a world where all the things you love can coexist….operations, public health, prevention, and clinical quality. This past week, learning and practicing clinical skills alongside my peers was both humbling and encouraging.

What a joy it is to be a beginner again. And what an incredible story this is going to make.

To be continued. 😘 by @capturingdestiny

“Quit your job, pivot your career, change your life.” #doitafraid 🙏🏾 by @capturingdestiny

We have all these ideas (well-intended) of how life is supposed to look. And sometimes what we’re chasing is really about how our lives are perceived by other people, even when we’re unhappy.

Anything for the aesthetic, huh? #lifelessons

What a blessing it is to finally get off that rat race and blaze a trail that feels scary at times. To be able to look up, ask God for guidance, and realize He can literally give you the keys to try something completely new.

I know I’ll never get this time back again. To leave a 14-year career. To go back to school. To work part-time doing something fun and meet beautiful people along the way. To experience a version of life I probably wouldn’t have chosen for myself years ago.

Thank you GOD for not allowing certain things to happen when I wanted them to.

Because right now? Right now feels right on time. 🥹🥹🥹

We spend our lives sitting on beautiful things because we are too worried about how it looks and how we are perceived. At the end of the day, who really cares? You have to be bold enough and believe in yourself enough to just do the thing. Is it not you that is living your life? Other than God, what matters most is what you believe about yourself.

Do it scary. Do it afraid. Do it with doubt. Just do it. And watch life open up for you in the most beautiful ways.

NGL every other day I’m like, “girl you really burned it all down to build it back up?” At your big age? Are you okay???

Haha.

And then I think I wouldn’t have it any other way…. ❤️ by @capturingdestiny
