A great spring weekend. Drift fishing with Michael for wild trout on the Sacramento River, a little Aqua Golf and a visit to the Redding Public Market for some live music. by @carichmaher
A late August paddle on Manzanita Lake in Lassen National Park. by @carichmaher
The “Great Retaining Wall” of Northern California. Some jobs you measure by the cost, some by hours or days, some you measure by the number of trips to “urgent care” but this job was measured by the number of gloves I wore through. Glad this is over. by @carichmaher
Another great rodeo weekend with my old friend Red Bluff Roundup Director Gary Ramos and new friend co-volunteer Ken Burns. This year they presented the Red Rock bull statue and three days of fun … at the largest 3 day rodeo in the USA. by @carichmaher
After the big storm passed through Northern California the birds moved out to dry off. They even took advantage of the high winds and started blow drying on the fence. by @carichmaher
Speed trip to “Elk Country”, Trinidad and the air show in Humboldt County. Great way to beat the Redding heat and catch up with friends. by @carichmaher
Recent trip to McCloud with some friends. Great break from the heat at home. Camped on private property (an old lumber mill). No one camping near us and it came complete with a running creek, a pond for the dog and amazing views of Mt Shasta. by @carichmaher
Well, the spring project is finished at the Hee-Haw ranch. The chicken coop and run are partially composed of remnants/scraps from our remodel. The tin roof is salvaged from an old auto shop in the area and the pink gate is a section of security fencing from the old court house. Chickens should be happy and safe. Still searching for a good name for the coop/run. “The Henitentiary” and “Hen-Quentin” have been considered and are still in the running. by @carichmaher
When your bird dog “Cinder” brings you an unsolicited quail from the back yard … you cook it up. Waste not, want not. Delicious. by @carichmaher
Quick winter trip to San Diego and Mission Beach. Had some great weather … and some big time storms on the way home. Great to see the kids and smell the ocean again. by @carichmaher
Two young bucks in our front yard … putting in the training for next year. by @carichmaher
Day 8 - Last full day in Ireland. Spent the morning checking out Trinity College (for the Book of Kells, the Library, and the Brian Boru Harp) then a quick stop at Maher’s Pub, the Original Temple Bar (for pints and live music) and finally St. Patrick’s Cathedral and St. Stephen’s Green park. by @carichmaher
