Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi × Christian Louboutin collaboration.

Christian Louboutin himself, Rian Johnson, Doug Chiang (Lucasfilm VP), Kim Smith, and John Goodson (Practical Model Makers) — among the people who came together behind the scenes to bring this collaboration to life.

Hair, makeup, and grooming for the project.

One of the most unforgettable projects of my career.

May the Force be with you. ⭐️

Miss Perú Universo • 2002 ✨
Working side by side with the late Marco Antonio Gallego at Miss Perú Universo 2002, I came in as the San Francisco-based guest hair and makeup artist and had the opportunity to work with Miss Universe 2001, Denise Quiñones, when she came to Lima, Perú, to crown the new queen.
I also did makeup for beauty queens including Adriana Zubiate, Miss Perú Universo 2002, Viviana Rivasplata, Miss Perú 2001, Luciana Farfán, Miss Asia Pacific International 2001, Mónica Chacón de Vettori, and many others.
Together, we also did live TV makeovers on América Televisión.
One of the most beautiful chapters of my career. ❤️

This was San Francisco in the ’80s and ’90s — and this was me.

The 14 Mission bus. An 80 Jerry Rice jersey and an SF beanie, because that’s just what you wore.

Around the Way Girl hair, because obviously. And a Marilyn Monroe poster on my wall — Old Hollywood was already calling.

Through a mentor, I found myself in a television studio for the first time — Home Turf on KRON-TV, a pioneering San Francisco hip-hop show where I was introduced to the world of television, music and entertainment.

Tupac, Ice Cube, and so many more appeared on the show. Even one of the Fly Girls from In Living Color — a young Jennifer Lopez — joined the panel for an interview.

Being around that creativity and those voices shaped me at the exact age it mattered most.

That experience quietly started everything, years before I understood what it meant.

Little did I know, a couple of years later, at 19, l'd find myself working around Elizabeth Taylor.

“Mom, what were you like in the early 2000s?’
She asked me on our way to the beach yesterday, with early 2000s music playing.
Sunglasses off — this is me, unfiltered.
Martinis in the city. A cowboy hat at some club I don’t even remember the name of. Fur in the snow, swimsuits in Miami. Brooklyn, Yosemite, Paramount’s own front gate - chasing every direction life pointed me, growing more into myself with every one.
Some of these people are still around. Some I lost far too soon — like one of the sweetest friends I ever had, gone now, but never forgotten.
Famous or not, all of them part of the story.
And then, the moment that changed everything — becoming a mom.
I still love who I was in every one of these photos. I never want to forget.

March 14, 2001. 📰

Found this while going through old photos — an article from years ago.

I've worked in hair & makeup on projects with Christian Louboutin × Star Wars, with celebrities, and on red carpets. But some of the most meaningful work I’ve ever done was for women I’d never call famous — women transitioning off welfare, some healing from domestic violence, rebuilding their lives and stepping back into the workforce.

I did their hair, their makeup, styled their wardrobe. Some cried. Some hugged me. One asked for my autograph — I told her, “I’m not famous.” I just got to be there, for something real.

This was over 20 years ago. Still doing it today.
