![❤️🍎Anime NYC 2026 🍎❤️How did I plan my first ever exhibitor booth?
Ever since I started bringing my caring is punk streetwear collection to conventions, I’ve been bursting at the seams in the artist alley. It’s really hard to properly display books and shirts on a 6 foot table. Everything gets lost. This year was the perfect year for me to upgrade.
I did a lot of preliminary research. I went back through my camera roll to look at booths that had inspired me at previous shows. I also looked around the Internet. Ultimately, an idea came to me while I was working on another project and I scribbled it down on to a Post-it note. I taped it to my computer screen so I wouldn’t forget about it!
The L shape table layout was so clear in my head, but it wasn’t until the train ride into the city that I realized I had never actually drawn it! I did this sketch on the train so my helper (my dad) would see the vision.
We fit everything into 4 rolling bags. I really wanted to experiment with an exhibitor booth at Anime NYC because it’s local and I can always restock or take things back home if they’re not selling. It felt like a safe place to land if it was really unsuccessful, you know?
Thankfully, ANYC was my most successful show ever! I love how the set up turned out.
It was wonderful to give all of my work a space to be seen. And I could ever be a little weird and build some weird art masks for my shirt models!
The space felt very “me.”
As a side note, I love how I am listed in ANYC‘s system. Very Koji Takahashi [stops the world] lol. I’ve been there since day one baybeeeeeeee
❤️❤️❤️
Bonus picture!
This is from Anime Boston 2015. This was not my first artist alley table, but my first serious one. We’ve come a long way! I didn’t even have a tablecloth! :, D by @caring_is_punk](https://scontent-sjc6-1.cdninstagram.com/v/t51.82787-15/794585090_18619411135013013_8673775591382307948_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e35_s640x640_tt6&_nc_cat=100&ccb=7-5&_nc_sid=18de74&efg=eyJlZmdfdGFnIjoiQ0FST1VTRUxfSVRFTS5iZXN0X2ltYWdlX3VybGdlbi5DMyJ9&_nc_ohc=UE18-sfrxCgQ7kNvwGjyU_p&_nc_oc=AdoZaKuBYcbSWAbrqI9ezaefOsYdtYLL5JLwfrmtdUoNlUa50evqaHpxxFm-gICYJHmn9S9cdfGk_PoIFITbXoWw&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-sjc6-1.cdninstagram.com&_nc_gid=bwZ6ObhbNfscFs0NFPrivA&_nc_ss=70689&oh=00_AQRiXrF-ESIO0MhmXBItvzsO_e3zLdonZl7HAXJjDzrg3w&oe=6AF0CCEF)
