Different stories. Different cultures. One shared canvas. 🧵❤️

A little look back at Cymru in Patchwork — an afternoon of creativity, culture and connection in celebration of Black History Month.

Through textiles, art and storytelling, we came together to celebrate the identities and experiences that make Wales what it is today.

It was a pleasure collaborating with Youth4Change Wales and lead artist @geee_david to bring this beautiful experience to life, with support from Arts Council of Wales.

Because Wales isn’t made up of just one story. It’s a patchwork of us all. 🌍✨

GOOD ON YOU is a film about inheritance. What we carry from where we come from and how we choose to present it. Style is instinctive, naturally shaped out of everything you were handed.

Three people from three different backgrounds, dressed in pieces that were also something else before.

DA-TI means good on you in Welsh; a phrase you say when something suits a person in a way it would not suit anyone else. Not a compliment about the garment. A compliment about the fit between a person and what they have chosen.

Every piece in the film began as something discarded. Found, taken apart, rebuilt by hand. Clothes with a past, worn by people with one.

GOOD ON YOU is a collaborative project between Oblique Society and Dati Clothing, shot at The Canopi, Cardiff.

RUNWAY IN THE WILD traces the quiet power of six individuals who chose, without hesitation, to move as one. Different origins, different bodies, different worlds but drawn together into a single frame.

At its core, the film is a meditation on belonging. Not the kind that is granted by institutions or industries, but the kind that is claimed. Through movement, through nature, through the simple act of showing up and being seen, each person finds their place within the collective — and the collective finds its shape around them.

RUNWAY IN THE WILD is our first editorial film from the EMERGENCE project — Oblique Society’s debut into the world. A declaration that fashion is not a door you wait to be let through, it is a space you create.

EMERGENCE — Tse Carl

poised at the water’s edge like a figure pulled from marble. Half myth, half man, wholly unbothered.

Most people don’t need more time. They need the right few habits and professionally personalised guidance.

If your schedule’s full but your standards are high, we should talk. Link in bio.

The Emergence film depicts a story told without a single word. Proof that the right images don’t need narration, they need a room that’s listening. Oblique Society.”
