Resonance 5 Artist feature: Carol Acedo's "She’ll Win the Next Go-’Round," you can purchase this piece online or in person. The past does not sit quietly at the A. R. Mitchell Museum—it hums. In Resonance 5, that hum becomes a conversation. Drawn from the museum’s archive, A.R. Mitchell’s photographs, once documents of a specific time, place, and eye, are placed into the hands of over 40 contemporary artists. Each pairing is an invitation, not an instruction. What follows is not replication, but response. Resonance 5 asks viewers to look twice. First at Mitchell’s photographs, then at what they have become in the hands of another. In that space between image and interpretation, something subtle emerges: a recognition that art is not fixed, but continually reimagined. That even an archive, often thought of as static, can be a site of generative energy. Here, creativity rules the day, but it does so in conversation with history. And in that exchange, both are transformed. Experience these bygone times as seen through a modern lens - on display through December 30th, attendance is always free. #Resonance5 #westernart #historicphotography #contemporywesternart by @carolacedoart
I am honored and very excited to participate in The Coates Western Art Show this weekend in Granbury Texas! The show will be at Celebration Hall this year, right on Granbury Square and at the same time as the Harvest Moon Festival of the Arts! Come enjoy a weekend of great art! by @carolacedoart
✨ ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: CAROL ACEDO ✨ We’re excited to welcome Fort Worth artist Carol Acedo @carolacedoart to our upcoming Cellar & Canvas event at 199 Winery in Azle! Carol’s work has a quiet strength to it—warm, beautifully detailed, and deeply connected to the spirit of western and ranch life. Her distinctive technique allows the natural texture and tone of raw canvas to become part of the artwork itself, creating pieces that feel both refined and wonderfully organic. Her work is even more striking in person, and this is your chance to meet Carol, hear about her process, and experience her artwork up close while enjoying an evening at 199 Winery. 🍷🎨 📍 199 Winery | Azle 📅 September 2 ⏰ 5–8 PM Come sip, browse, meet the artist, and maybe discover the piece you didn’t know your walls were missing. #CellarAndCanvas #ArtistSpotlight #CarolAcedo #199Winery #AzleTX #FortWorthArtist #TexasArtist #WesternArt #ArtAndWine #DFWEvents #CollectOriginalArt by @carolacedoart

She has now settled in Fort Worth, Texas where she owns an Industrial Design consulting business that specializes in the design of commercial grade lighting fixtures. Her creative ambitions carry over to her love of art that she has expressed throughout her career by creating large scale artwork for commercial spaces, commissioned artwork for individuals, and themed works for exhibitions. Carol is best known for her unique method of painting in which she applies acrylic paint onto raw, prepared canvas. This method produces a soft, light absorbing, matte surface not common to most paintings. Most of her works are monochromatic while others have color layered on top of a monochromatic underpainting. Ranch life, western culture, animals, and architecture are common subjects in her artwork. Her artwork can be found at various galleries in Texas, Oklahoma, and in exhibitions and personal collections around the USA. @mulealley @stockyardsstation #fortworth #fortworthstockyards #westernart by @carolacedoart
