We love that she keeps finding reasons to return. The landscapes, the people, the friendships, the whole experience. And we can’t wait to share another one with her.

Welcome back @caroline.livesey , we can’t wait to write another chapter of our story together.

@caroline.livesey set off on her bike from Inverness Castle at 4am and rode the full North Coast 500 non-stop, aiming to break a 4 year old record... 👀

830 km. No sleep. Over 9,000 calories consumed. 🤯

Now you can watch the whole thing. @the_brick_session has turned the ride into a documentary. 🔗👇 by @caroline.livesey

Congratulations @caroline.livesey on setting a new North Coast 500 record! 🥇

She completed the 828.4km loop around the Scottish Highlands in just 32 hours and 22 minutes. That was 4 hours and 18 minutes faster than the previous FKT. 🤯

That's despite some torrential rain and nearly 9,000m of climbing, with just 2 hours of stop time across the entire effort. 😱

She powered that performance by consuming ~9,179 kcal, using a mix of real food (homemade flapjacks, Snickers bars, rice pudding, hot chocolate, Coca-Cola) and sports nutrition (PF 30 Chews and Electrolyte Drinks).

Caroline's sweat sodium concentration is 757mg/L, which is lower than average. But over 32 hours and 12+ litres of sweat loss, even moderate sodium losses can compound. The personalised plan we helped her develop in the build up enabled her to replace a decent proportion of those losses. 🎯

Swipe through for the full breakdown. ➡️

The Patagonman Swim
Top tips 💥
•
The thing that athletes seem to worry about the most ahead of @patagonman is the swim.
How cold is it?
How long is the jump?
Is it hard to swim in the dark?
What about equipment?
Here are my top tips:
-Wherever you are in the world before the race, swim regularly in your wetsuit. Even if it’s too hot. The muscles you need to develop for wetsuit swimming don’t happen by accident.
-Take options to Chile. The water temperature can vary quite a lot. My preference is for a layered approach with the Orca long sleeved neoprene underlayer ready to go under my Apex Float if conditions dictate.
-Never try new items on race day. If you have a new neoprene hat, or a different thermal suit for example, try them multiple times before the race (even if it’s in a pool). And most importantly, try getting them off fast (this often catches athletes out).
-Train with paddles. Swimming in neoprene gloves makes your hands heavy and needs extra power for your stroke to remain strong until the end of the swim. Paddles can help develop that strength, although gold standard would be to practice in your gloves in cold water.
-Don’t worry about the jump. There is no evidence that worrying about it will make it shorter 🤪 it’s one of the most fun parts of the day. Hold on to your goggles and smile as you launch!

Hope everyone’s preparation is going well and you are doing better at finding cold water than me! Mallorca = sea temp still 21 degs 🙈 but at least I have Ona 🐶 as a training partner.

I’m lucky that @the_brick_session and I share a love for exploration, training new places and meeting new people. These last two weeks we have been on the move across Spain and Portugal; working, training, making friends and being inspired. And as always, the universe has a way of throwing the unexpected into our path. I don’t believe in coincidences, but I do believe that when you look, opportunities appear where you least expect them.

So grateful for this life, this sport, and the people in it.

2026 — what a year it’s been.

A huge thank you to every athlete who has trusted EZ Gains, raced with our products and supported what we’re building. From wind tunnel testing to the world stage at Kona, it’s been incredible to see our products helping athletes push their limits and chase their goals.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together and even more excited for what’s ahead. New innovations, bigger goals and more gains to come.

This is just the beginning. Thank you for being part of the journey. 💚

The best is yet to come. by @caroline.livesey

Going back! @patagonman
I know…how fu@king lucky am I?!
It’s been a full on crazy year. Gravel racing, WR NC500, Ultra, more gravel racing…tonnes of travel.
But at some point after the NC500, Patagonia started to call me back. I always said it was a magical place. 🧐
Last time I won there in 2024 I really thought it would be my last visit to the race at end of the world.
But the Universe had other plans.
Now I am unbelievably excited to have another opportunity to race there in about 8 weeks time.
It’s always an incredibly special experience, and no matter what happens on race day, I know that it will be a day lived in full HD. Comfort zone nowhere in sight.
So stay tuned for Chile spam 😝

516 miles.

35,000+ feet of climbing.

One relentless question:

How far can you push yourself?

Caroline Livesey took on the NC500 with one goal — to break the record & raising funds for Peak Education Nepal

Through brutal climbs, unpredictable Scottish weather, exhaustion and moments when stopping would have been the easier choice, she kept moving.

And now, the record is hers.

But there’s so much more to this achievement than a number.

Watch the full documentary on YouTube and see what it really took to break the NC500 record.

Congratulations, Caroline. 🖤

TONIGHT.

Watch Caroline take on the NC500 around Scotland in an attempt to break the World Record.

But this film isn’t just about watching Caroline ride a bike for more than 800 km. It goes into the detail and planning required to break a World Record.

The aero testing, equipment choices, nutrition, weather, pacing, logistics and the countless small decisions that can ultimately make the difference between succeeding and failing.

It also shows just how important it is to have a bloody good team around you when things get difficult.

And let’s not forget why Caroline did this in the first place.

To raise money for Peak Education Nepal, helping provide children in Nepal with access to an education and an opportunity to change their future. Music by @valtosband

I have so many great memories from the ride, as I have said before - I really did love it.
But I spent much of it “alone”. The (incredible) crew were always with me, a decent distance behind in the follow vehicle or one of the other crew vehicles. But when you do a ride like this you have to get into your own mental game. Switch off from distractions and focus on the task at hand.
Being in that flow state meant the ride really was quite a blur when I came out the other side. I had snippets seared into my memory, but also hours of blurry consistency (and rain).
Having Mark there to capture it all through the lens, and being able to watch scenes that I was never aware of (things that happened behind me!) is an absolute privilege and one I try not to take for granted. He captures things in a unique way, creating beautiful documentaries.
When I first watched this film it really got me 😢. It brought with it emotions that I hadn’t fully processed. Moments I hadn’t really appreciated. Made all the more poingnent by @valtosband music.
I can’t wait for you all to see it, and I really hope you will share it with people who need to see how amazing Scotland is.
•
You know what too? I loved it so much I “might” do something similar >> next year 🤪
Guesses?
