A very nice email to wake to this email and thrilled to be part of this exhibition, thank you Pete and Moira Huggins. South Quay Gallery is a fabulous space in an interesting area of Great Yarmouth. I think this calls for another train journey.

‘Fragile Nostalgia 18’ was painted this year and forms part of a large body of paintings, looking at people in intimate spaces in a variety of settings. I went up to Manchester this afternoon for the Private View. The curation by Eleanor Clayton was superb and because the paintings and sculptures were placed in themes ie figurative etc the curation enabled all works to breathe.
Thank you for such an enjoyable visit, catching up with friends and meeting new acquaintances.

For this week's column, I wrote about Birmingham's painters who find beauty in its edgelands, surrealism in the suburbs and magic in the mundane, often by night 🖊

You can see their remarkable work in VISTA, an exhibition of contemporary landscape painting, which it's been my joy to curate ✨️

It continues until 10 October @courtyardgallerycore @coretheatresol and is free to view
