New York City we here! by @carolyncarterfree

My family reunion on my dad’s side and my Northside Alumi Orange and White Ball were all held at the same Hotel location this weekend. We had a fantastic family reunion here in Memphis. Friday night’s banquet was a blast, and Saturday’s picnic at Shelby Farms was absolutely lovely, filled with laughter and good times.

However, things took a bit of an unexpected turn at the picnic. I got seriously overheated and started feeling incredibly weak, super dizzy, lightheaded, and my right arm and both hands completely lost sensation. I honestly just thought I needed to cool off and headed to my car for cool air. Needless to say, that wasn’t the case. My folk called 911. I insisted on telling the paramedics and my family that I was fine however, my body was saying differently. They weren’t having it. The paramedics insisted that these were all signs of severe dehydration and a potential heatstroke. The paramedics immediately started an IV, and before I knew it, I was being taken away in an ambulance to Methodist Germantown!

The good news is, I’m GRATEFUL and discharged from the hospital. I’m resting up with the family and feeling much better. I’m taking the doctor’s orders seriously and focusing on getting plenty of fluids and resting.

The devil thought he had me but I got away! The last thing I heard as the paramedics were closing the doors, was my mom’s voice. She said, “we PLEAD THE BLOOD 🩸 OF JESUS OVER YOUR LIFE! Every thing will be ok! God has it all in control and we love you nie!” The end! I yet have another testimony! It’s obvious, The LORD Don’T PLAY ABOUT ME🤷🏾‍♀️! This heat is extremely disrespectful and has me scared to go outside. 🤷🏾‍♀️. I don’t take it for granted that I’M STILL HERE! by @carolyncarterfree

Yall stop whatcha doing and help me wish one of my amazing sons a Happy 29th Birthday.
Today I celebrate one of God’s greatest blessings in my life. Cortez Sisco watching you grow into the man you are today has filled my heart with so much pride. You are a God fearing, hardworking, giving and mature young man who never stops striving to be better. You’re a true go getter who believes in earning what you have. Your love for God and your faithfulness in attending church speak volumes about your character. You have a passion for traveling, enjoying the finer things in life, and if anyone knows you, they know running and healthy living aren’t just hobbies but a lifestyle. Seeing the message you sent myself and your siblings this week reminded me once again of how humble and selfless you are. Instead of asking for money, you simply asked for something that helps you continue doing what brings you peace and keeps you healthy….(RUNNING SHOES)🤷🏾‍♀️.
You have always been different, and I mean that in a positive way. You walk your own path with confidence, integrity, and purpose. I couldn’t be more proud of all you’ve accomplished at 29 years older and I know God has even greater things in store for your future. Again, Happy Birthday, son! Keep running your race not just on the pavement, but in life and in your walk with Christ. I’ll always be your biggest cheerleader. May you continue to run both your physical race and your spiritual race with the same discipline, humility, and joy that makes me such a proud mom. Love ya dude and again Happy Birthday 🎈🎈🎈 by @carolyncarterfree

Sista Strut 2026 was a phenomenal success today. While the event has often been hampered by cold or chilly weather, today’s conditions were exceptional. The entertainment was indeed a blessing, and the large number of attendees supporting the cause was inspiring. Sista Strut #survivor #imstillhere👊🏾🙌🏾 by @carolyncarterfree
