Had the boy help put the Rivs back on this afternoon. Don't know why it took the majority of summer to take the winter steels off, but it did. He seemed to enjoy it though! 😎

Really nice example of a right hand drive Westfalia, in for @litesteer power steering conversion, @cartunevw quickshift kit, combined with @csp_crew gear coupling, and some MOT prep, including 4 new balljoints, track rod, brake work amongst the usual service items. @surreysplit is the owner of this gem.

Here's an order I'm working on for @spigallini and it isn't for two separate vehicles....

Excited to see how this will look!

Received these great photos from @jge_1956 last night from @shelsleywalsh Hill Climb.

I managed to get John a kit out in time for the event and his verdict?

Worked far better than the expensive shifter he had fitted previously! Naming no names here, but it's something I have heard quite frequently. The massive advantage the kit has is that there is very little, if anything to go wrong with it which ultimately means: Reliability.

Got plenty of wide 5 Carrera spacer in stock. M12 to suit VW's a d M14 for Porsche fitment.

Perfect for Oldspeed racers. 😎

I don't sell hardware for them though. Plenty of places do online for cheaper than I could!

Set of taper tips I just finished up. 😎

Deliberately haven't pushed Cartune much so far this year as I've had other stuff to deal with, but thankfully I'm in a position now to go again.

I will be having a sort out of the website too. I do have quickshift kits in, in all sizes, so keep your eyes peeled or drop me a DM if you are after one. Got loads of wheel spacers that I could do with moving on as well, got those in both M12 and M14.

Your support is always appreciated! It helps keep the website paid for,me out of mischief and the Cartune name going!

BACK IN STOCK!

The Steel fairies have arrived with some tube, which means I can get making these again!

Providing the same burbuly, roarty goodness they've provided UK VWs with since the 60s.

And the price hasn't changed since 2017, which is remarkable and slightly idle on my behalf, but it does be like that sometimes. 🤷

So get involved on the website before I pull a calculator out and do the sums and realise they've got to go up 25% 😂

WOAH!!!! 😲😲😲😲

Just had these amazing photos of Cartune's Roy Vaughan sent to me by his daughter Tracey. Her mum found them after moving a box file to get to the gas meter!

There's a lot to unpack in these too. The colour photos are at Cartune Ashford. The black and white photo is almost certainly of Roy in his oval window beetle. He was a Goodwood member and raced there in the late 1950's, so I'd be surprised (given the crash helmet) if it wasn't taken there.

The colour photos are later, circa 1970. The engine is a 2 litre unit used in a Karmann Ghia which was pictured in Safer Motoring magazine. The interior of this is also pictured in black and white. A photo of the engine on the stand also featured on the cover of Beetling magazine.

The red 1500 beetle is Peter Noad's, who was of course sponsored by Cartune and was a Safer Motoring writer at the time. The white beetle in the background is what I think is HDC 717F, which was a Cartune 1200 special edition, again, featured in Safer Motoring.

Genuine British VW history in these pictures here.

(And I've forgotten the massive dogs name!)

Great day @midlands_aircooled_swap_meet today, I even managed to take a photo on the way out of Paul Hinchcliffe's cab which was recently featured in Hayburner, albeit before he purchased a set of taper tips. Paul also got me out of a tight spot on the way to EBI last year, which I'm still very grateful for.

Absolutely love this car, late model, cabriolet, cosmics, Jadet mudflaps, cool as! 😎😎😎

It's been a while!

Still here for anyone that's wondering, just been very busy recently. I'll be at @midlands_aircooled_swap_meet this Sunday. I have a very limited stock of bits at the moment as I'm currently redoing my garage workspace so it works better, warmer, nicer etc, so not currently producing anything!

I've also undertaken another big life project that I've got a lot of time invested in. With that said I do still find a bit of time to sift through various archives. I turned up this little nugget from @goodwoodmotorcircuit in 1963. The chief scrutineer of this particular race was Cartune's founder Fred Matthews with Cartune's then current Chairman Mike Griffin also working beneath him as a scrutineer, so plenty of Motorsport history links.

There's also a race at @silverstonecircuit I'm working on which Mr Griffin raced his beetle in, that featured another 8 VWs and a bunch of Aston Martins, but I'll post more about that when I've done some more rummaging.

If you got this far, thanks and well done. 👍

Some onboard footage from today, looks slow from the outside, but feels like you're going warp-speed inside! 🤣
