MOMENTUM MEETS X CCDC: Tyler Quincy Yan Tyler Quincy Yan (he/him) is a Toronto-based street dancer, choreographer, and educator with over 8 years of experience in punking/whacking/waacking. Focused on developing versatility, he also consistently trains in street styles of hip-hop and house, and in choreography styles best labelled as commercial, jazz funk, and contemporary. His current practice extends to street dance (organizing, battling, teaching), commercial industry (artist credits: Johnny Orlando, Quarterback Baby, Omar Afuni), and dance theatre (recent work: “@profile” with Meaningful Movement, “Short&Sweet” by Toronto Dance Theatre, “PULSE” by RNR & Tarragon Theatre, “The Healing” choreographed by Hanna Kiel). He is passionate about integrating street dance into choreographic spaces, particularly contemporary dance theatre. As a Queen’s University alum (Class of 2021…he feels ancient typing this!) and former president of Kingston Freestyle Dance, Tyler is ecstatic to be back to share in the space where he first began dancing. Initially starting as a breaker and popper, Tyler watched his first waacking battle on YouTube In the dusty corners of LL1 of the ARC, and the trajectory of his life changed (not even being hyperbolic. LOL.) Lowkey nostalgic typing this out. This place was where he’d study waacking battles and tutorials while sessioning with his crew until midnight, before hitting McDonald’s, or Dim Sum Kingston on a good day. It’ll be a special time. Stauffer can wait for another Sunday! 📍Queens Athletics & Recreation Centre (ARC) 🗓️ Sunday Nov 8th 2026 4:00-6:00 PM Ticket link in CCDC linktree! by @casuallycooldance
