Consider this the “start here” if you’re new around here 🤎 I’m Catarina, but a lot of people call me Cat — and around here it’s a little bougie, a little backcountry. I’m a mama first, Jesus is at the center of it all, and somewhere along the way my life became a mix of raising babies on our little Colorado ranch, horses + hunting, sourdough on the counter, safer swaps, building businesses, mountain adventures and usually wearing a hat through all of it. 😂 There are a lot of different pieces to our life, but I think that’s what I love most about sharing it. So whether you found me because of motherhood, wellness, the outdoors, our hunts + horseback trips, Piedra River Outpost, or you just like pretty things and getting a little dirt on your boots… I’m really glad you’re here. 🤎 Swipe through to get to know us + then check out my highlights if you’re looking for something specific! #ColoradoMom #RanchLife #OutdoorMom #ChristianMotherhood #WesternLifestyle Colorado ranch life • faith and motherhood • outdoor family • horses and hunting • backcountry living • wellness and safer swaps • sourdough • Colorado travel • western lifestyle by @cat.inthe.hat
My five-year-old had been asking for a booster seat for months. She’s tall for her age, about 52 pounds, and was starting to outgrow her 3-in-1 seat. I had already begun looking at boosters. I truly thought we were getting close. Looking back now, I am unbelievably thankful we waited. Tuesday night answered that question forever. We were driving home from my mom’s on a gravel county road—about 45 minutes away. Dusk had settled in, it had been raining, and just minutes from home, our SUV left the road. We went down roughly a 20-foot embankment. The SUV rolled. When everything stopped, we were hanging upside down by our seatbelts. My only thought was my babies. I reached for my seatbelt, desperate to get to them, but it wouldn’t release. Then I heard Faye crying. But I couldn’t hear Declan. I have never known panic like that. I started honking the horn while still fighting my seatbelt. Then Faye cried out: “Mom… I can’t breathe.” I pray I never feel that helpless again. I tried to stay calm for her while completely falling apart inside. “It’s okay, honey. It’s going to be okay. Try to unbuckle your car seat.” I thought hanging upside down might be affecting her breathing, but I couldn’t see her to know. My phone was still plugged in, thankfully. I reached for it to call my neighbor—we were only minutes from home. I just needed help fast. Instead, Emergency SOS activated. Dispatch answered. I was trying to explain a road I drive all the time, but suddenly couldn’t even describe where we were. Then I heard Declan cry. Fear and relief hit at the same time. After what felt like forever—but was probably about 30 seconds—I got my seatbelt undone and crawled into the back. Faye was nearly out of her harness. I pulled her close, and that’s when I felt the vehicle shift. We weren’t stable. CONTINUED IN COMMENTS by @cat.inthe.hat

Close enough right? I actually think the real win is having a husband that says “let’s go for a drive to look at the colors” ..every year 🥹 #ColoradoFall #MillionDollarHighway #SouthwestColorado #SanJuanMountains #ColoradoColors Colorado fall colors • Million Dollar Highway • Southwest Colorado • San Juan Mountains • Colorado fall foliage • Colorado scenic drive • Ouray Colorado • Silverton Colorado • fall in Colorado • Colorado road trip • Colorado mountain living • autumn in Colorado by @cat.inthe.hat
Our annual Colorado colors drive 🍂🏔️ Every fall, we try to carve out an afternoon to pile in the car and head toward the Million Dollar Highway just to take in the colors. It’s kind of crazy to think that people travel from all over the country to experience this drive… and for us, it’s only about an hour from home. 🤎 One of those little reminders to slow down, look around, and be grateful for where God planted us. Colorado, you sure are something special. 🍁 #ColoradoFall #MillionDollarHighway #SouthwestColorado #SanJuanMountains #ColoradoColors Colorado fall colors • Million Dollar Highway • Southwest Colorado • San Juan Mountains • Colorado fall foliage • Colorado scenic drive • Ouray Colorado • Silverton Colorado • fall in Colorado • Colorado road trip • Colorado mountain living • autumn in Colorado by @cat.inthe.hat

Much needed refresh from @calijomc 💇🏼‍♀️✨ A little fresh hair, a little “Megaroni” (how Faye pronounces) wisdom and a whole lot of choosing peace. 😂 Not every conversation needs my response, not every opinion needs my attention and not every situation needs my energy. If you’re into a little bougie, a little backcountry, motherhood, horses, wellness + everyday life on the ranch, stick around 🤎 A few Bible verses that go along with that advice: “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:11 “Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.” — Romans 12:17 “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9 #HairTransformation #CowgirlStyle #RanchLife #OutdoorMama #WesternLifestyle hair transformation • fresh hair • brunette hair • cowgirl style • western lifestyle • ranch life • outdoor mom • motherhood • Colorado ranch • horse girl • western fashion • everyday lifestyle by @cat.inthe.hat
