Best time to be learning Plant ID when so many gum trees are in flower... I've scoped out 6 pink flowering ones around town haha. 💓

I know a darker red one is probably a Carymbia sp. not a Eucalyptus sp. by looking, and I'm pretty sure I saw an Angophora sp. yesterday, guessing from the look of their seed capsules, but in due time I will get back to you

I'm being patient resisting adding to iNaturalist by drawing all the parts before trying a eucalypt ID key soon. No one give away the answer haha 😆 by @catmueller

Swan River Pea ❤️💜 (Gastrolobium celsianum) another species endemic to the magical southwest WA of course!

The Black Coral Pea (Kennedia nigricans) I grew from seed has flowered. 🖤 It's some alien type thang, I don't know how she 🌏 comes up with these flowers.*

🖤💚

I scarified the seed (pre-treating it to break the hard seed coat & trigger germination) by soaking the seed overnight in some just-pre-boiled water. Sowed a bunch of native peas a while ago, some of the Black Coral Pea seeds I got online and some were saved from my original plant from @coolcountrynatives

🖤💚

*jokes - it just evolved in south-west WA, where all the coolest flowers did, in some of the oldest "poorest" soils on earth, leading to some of the prettiest, most unique, special, unreal alienlike flowering plants to ever evolve.
