“Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, Thus far the Lord has helped us.”
— 1 Samuel 7:12 (NKJV)

Throughout Scripture, God reveals Himself not only as our source, but as our help, present in battles, faithful and constant through every season. The believer’s life is not sustained by might or wisdom, but by the help of the Lord.

Ebenezer reminds us that our past, our present, and our future are all sustained by the unfailing hand of God.

2026 is a year of remembrance and reliance — a year where we recognize God’s help, depend fully on His faithfulness, and move forward with confidence in the One who has brought us this far.

📝 (4.) Use the access that you have; Esther 4:13-14. Esther is a very good example. She used her access to the king and palace to save her people.

📝 (5.) Act with courage; Esther and Nehemiah both took a bold step with courage after recognizing the burden they had.

📍 Final note: As a believer you’re not meant to stand by the sideline. You’re to partake! Jump in! Do everything you can, to be a partaker of what God is doing.

📍 Do not be a believer that waits for other people to do the right thing.

📝 Five lessons every believer must learn about burdens.
(Examples - Nehemiah & Esther)
Nehemiah was a cup bearer in the king's palace yet he rebuilt the wall.
Esther was a queen in the king's palace, yet she saved the lives of her people.

The lesson here is to look around to see where God has placed you as an advantage to solve problems.

Don't just learn there's a problem, find a solution.

📝 (1.) Your heart must learn to cry; when you realize there's a problem, your first step is stop being indifferent. Learn to check your heart, don't be desensitized.
A heart that is alive to God must not be dead to the pain of other people. Genuinely love, genuinely care.

📝 (2.) Pray about it (Nehemiah 1:5-6, Esther 4:16);
In praying, what you're doing is ultimately relying on God. See prayer as preparation. Let your preparation to help start with prayer.

📝 (3.) Partner with people (Nehemiah 2:18);
The burden that God has placed in your hands, you don't need to do it alone every time. Burdens can become a shared responsibility. by @thepaulomoike

📍 Every believer should have a weight in their heart, a responsibility they carry individually.

📍 God has given every believer a responsibility to do - a change to make and a place to make impact.

📍 Wondering why there are many believers in important positions across several sectors and there is no change - it is because most hope and assume that somebody other than them will do it. This is called the "by-stander effect".

📍 As a believer, you don't need to be cajoled to do what you are supposed to do.

📍 You must move from "someone else will do it" to "I will do it".

📍 It is important to note that as an individual, you cannot carry every single thing there is to do. Rather, you're to do those things God has placed in your hands. by @thepaulomoike
