3rd and final night Sunday 10/25 of the 2026 CCOYA youth doe hunt! We had one successful hunter! Kameron was fortunate enough to tag his first deer! After being unsure of the hit the mentor decided to back out and pick up the track in the morning. This morning after only 100 yards passed last blood marked the night before we recovered the deer! The shot was great and the doe expired quickly. Thank you to all the youth hunters and mentors that participated in our event. We had a very successful hunt harvesting 6 mature does! 4 of which have been donated to Hunters Sharing the Harvest and will be distributed in emporium at the local food bank! by @ccoya_pa

Cameron County Outdoor Youth Activities and the Cameron County Longbeards Chapter proudly hosted their annual Youth Turkey Camp following a morning spent chasing gobblers in the spring woods. Seventeen youth participated in the event, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship, and two lucky hunters harvested birds—both celebrating the unforgettable milestone of their very first turkeys. We cannot wait to see everyone again next year! by @ccoya_pa

Cameron County Outdoor Youth Activities is proud to congratulate Cora Olay as the recipient of this year’s Camp Bighorn Scholarship.

This summer, Cora will travel to Dubois, Wyoming to spend an unforgettable week immersed in hands-on outdoor education and adventure. Camp Bighorn is known for providing young people with meaningful experiences that build confidence, conservation ethics, and lifelong outdoor skills.

During the weeklong program, Cora will participate in a wide range of activities including archery, kayaking, hiking, fly fishing, and the study of wild edible and medicinal plants through ethnobotany. These experiences are designed to connect youth with nature while teaching practical skills, stewardship, and personal growth.

Opportunities like this scholarship are made possible through the support of our community and the shared belief that investing in youth today builds the outdoor leaders of tomorrow. We are incredibly proud of Cora and can’t wait to hear about the knowledge, memories, and inspiration she brings home.

Please join us in congratulating Cora Olay on this exciting achievement and wishing her an amazing adventure in Wyoming! by @ccoya_pa
