MERCI by @cedricpeltiercp

**Marbled Sea** Step 1 I created this panel on a slab of Carrara marble generously gifted to me by @lesmarbreriesdelaseine_ I have always seen, in the natural calcification of the stone, patterns of sea foam frozen in time. I wanted to bring them back to life by creating this restless, cold sea, enriched with subtle nuances of Japanese silver leaf that I brought back from my trip to Kyoto. This is the foundation of my artwork. The panel will then be covered with glass, which will itself be treated with shades of blue and enhanced with silver leaf, bringing even greater depth and refinement to the overall composition. I invite you to discover this piece at the @artisansdexcellence , taking place in Paris from November 19th to 21st at @palaisdelaportedoree I look forward to seeing many of you there! #whitecarraramarble #cedricpeltier #artandcrafts #artisansdexcellence #goldleafartist by @cedricpeltiercp
A poetic blend of straw marquetry and paint, created in collaboration with @cedricpeltiercp for the Cartier boutique in Orlando, designed by @bidardraissi.architecture. 🎥 @rowde.studio #strawmarquetry #craftsmanship #savoirfaire #interiordesign marqueteriedepaille by @cedricpeltiercp
Cartier – Orlando ** Ateliers Lison de Caunes × Atelier Cédric Peltier** Working on this intricately shaped surface, crafted by Les Ateliers Muquet, the architectural firm Bidart & Raissi envisioned a decorative composition paying tribute to one of Cartier’s iconic High Jewellery creations: a bird adorned with emeralds. Les Ateliers Lison de Caunes created a pattern combining several shades of natural straw, applied in a sunburst arrangement and in varying directions. Atelier Cédric Peltier, meanwhile, undertook a hyperrealistic reproduction of the jewel itself, accompanied by stylised exotic flowers in delicate pistachio-green tones. I would like to thank Cartier for their trust, and my team, Caroline Blanchemain and Yasmine Léger, for their invaluable contribution to this project. #Cartier #bidardraissi #cedricpeltier #lisondecaunes #orlando @atelierslisondecaunes @cedricpeltiercp @cartier @ateliersmuquet @bidardraissi.architecture @blanchemaincaroline @maimana.studio by @cedricpeltiercp
**Kyoto…** The very name of this city is an invitation to travel. And from the moment I arrived at the station, I was struck by the feeling that everything I had imagined about it had suddenly become reality. I immediately felt a strange sense of déjà vu, as though I already belonged to this place, the former capital of Japan… This Venice or Amsterdam of the East completely swept me away, taking me on a journey between tradition and modernity. Through the ever-invaluable Emi, a true ambassador of Japanese craftsmanship in the West, I had the privilege of meeting some extraordinary artisans. I wandered through the city in every direction, immersing myself in that very special atmosphere shared by all cities built around water. I marvelled at some of the finest ceramics, the most beautiful knives, the most exquisite timber structures and lacquerware… and I’m sure I missed just as many wonders along the way. Kyoto, I’ll be back… that’s for sure! @erikohoriki @emi_h_chateau @kizome_kyoto @kouseidou #craftmanship #kyoto #japaneseart #washi #cedricpeltier by @cedricpeltiercp
The Panther and Mount Fuji I was fortunate enough to spend two weeks travelling across Japan, immersing myself in its atmosphere and culture before creating this artwork for the *Magic of Cartier’s Artisans* event. Shortly after arriving in Tokyo, I took a train to Mount Fuji. After a night spent in a ryokan in one of the surrounding villages, I woke up at six in the morning and climbed the 400 steps leading to this viewpoint. I was among the fortunate who, despite the heavy snowfalls of the previous days, were rewarded with a clear view of the volcano. There, I realized why Its perfect silhouette had fascinated countless painters before me. I simply had to depict it. The Japanese pictorial tradition, as well as my desire to pay tribute to Japan, made this an obvious choice. As for the panther, it was gilded with brass leaf, which I had purchased in a shop in Kyoto, and drawn with the Art Deco lines so dear to Cartier. The panther rests upon a tree stump I had admired during a visit to a temple nestled alongside the famous Philosopher’s Path in Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun. Finally, this composition was created on an assemblage of sheets of traditional Japanese washi paper, purchased from the renowned and exceptionally talented @erikohoriki, a true national living treasure, who kindly welcomed me and my friend @emi_h_chateau into her studio. #cartier #panther #mountfuji #japantrip #cedricpeltier by @cedricpeltiercp
**The Magic of Cartier’s Artisans** In February 2026, I had the privilege of being invited by Cartier to take part in an event in Tokyo, at one of the Maison’s flagship boutiques in the famous Ginza district. Running for three weeks, the event celebrated French artisans who work closely with the Maison. Alongside my friends from Atelier Midavaine, Lison de Caunes, Atelier Lilikpo, Xiaobei Dong, Ryo Hikosaka, Hervé Obligi and Philippe Nicolas, I had the opportunity to demonstrate our craftsmanship to the Japanese public. It was an unforgettable experience. The enthusiasm and hospitality of the Japanese people are truly unparalleled. It was also an opportunity for me to travel alone for the first time to a fascinating country I had dreamed of discovering since childhood, and which has always been a source of inspiration for my painting. My heartfelt thanks to Hélène Kelmachter and the entire Cartier team for organising this extraordinary event, one that will forever hold a special place in my career as a craft artist. #cartier #ghinza #tokyo #cedricpeltier #craftartists @jeannoel_turquet from @atelier_midavaine @herve.obligi @atelierslisondecaunes @sikaviagbo from @atelier_lilikpo @ryohikosaka @xiaobeidong @sculpteur.philippenicolas @frenchsamourai @cartier by @cedricpeltiercp
Trip to Nagoya I absolutely loved my trip to Nagoya! I was working on my second painting for a @cartier boutique just before leaving Paris for this incredible journey across Japan. I was therefore really looking forward to discovering the murals of Honmaru Palace, which had been my source of inspiration, as well as the beautiful Tokugawa-en Gardens and the famous Ghibli Park I also took the opportunity to visit the @cartier boutique at Takashimaya in Nagoya Station, where I had the pleasure of bringing one of my most beautiful projects to life. And, as everywhere in Japan, I was welcomed with such warmth and kindness. Thank you so much! ❤️ #nagoya #japan #cedricpeltier #cartier #honmarucastle by @cedricpeltiercp
