Digital Ofrendas is a workshop which offered participants the tools to engage alternative photographic practices in Polaroid photography while providing an understanding around the annual celebration, Dia de Los Muertos (day of the dead). Within this approach participants printed a Polaroid of a loved one who has passed and learned the transfer process onto various papers. Sharing this process with others is the most rewarding part about this workshop. It was incredibly enlightening to hear the curiosity that resulted from the learning experience. Thank you @indigenousfuturesrc @milieux_institute @cloudmakr @haannssl for the support in making this happen @fineartsconcordia by @celestial_coyotl

[WORKSHOP] 🕯️ Ofrendas Digital : Digital Offerings Workshop 📸

Concordia’s 2026–2027 Fulbright Scholar and IFRC Affiliate, Dominick Porras, will lead the third and last workshop of our series!

Drawing on the traditions of the Mexican/Latino Diaspora, Ofrendas Digital explores the spirit of constructing a personalized Día de los Muertos offering. Participants will learn traditional Polaroid emulsion lifting processes alongside mobile app-based Polaroid printing technology.

📸 Bring along digital images on your mobile device (of loved ones, memories, or things you wish to honor) to create your own digital-analogue offering.

Shapeshifter Vessel in between spaces of Tiohtià:ke (Montreal) by @celestial_coyotl

There is no need for a border wall particularly in Big Bend Texas where no one crosses the border.
Big Bend is a wonderful place for several local folk have fostered relations and fighting to protect the land.
What is forgotten is, Big Bend is a sacred site. A sacred site under attack by construction for a pointless border wall.
Big Bend is not only unique for its geological structure, it is home to several Rock Paintings from early Jumano and other Coahuiltec cultures.
The painting below is within Big Bend Area within proximity to the ongoing construction. It reveals the ongoing ceremonial practices that continued during the early Rio Grande colonial project-Mission era of the 1600’s.
I acknowledge these works as classical paintings that inform the ethnogenesis of early Tejano culture. Each painting details so many spiritual and social aspects during contact.
My current work as a Fulbright Fellow in Canada through @indigenousfuturesrc
I am focusing on is animating several scenes from the Rock Paintings of the Pecos River and to help create awareness on this topic at hand.

This painting was crafted by Forrest & Lulu Kirkland in 1930, during their archeological rock art survey.

Inspired by the early works of @skawennati TimeTraveller, these new works feature the shapeshifter vessel created in Tiohtí:ke territories (Montreal) and Tekanontak.
What began as a series of experiments in 3D animations is now a dedicated collection of encounters with land and sites as sacred spaces. After one week in
Tiohtí:ke territories, I am grateful for the people at @indigenousfuturesrc and @_abtec_ who have shared their experiences and stories in Montreal.
