Today I turn 36 and the runner girl midlife crisis is truly in full swing 😂

Here’s to another year of unnecessary endurance challenges, expensive race shoes, 4am alarms, and self-inflicted pain while pretending recovery days are optional.

At 35 I ran 2 marathons, 2 ultramarathons, paced 31 miles at a 100 miler, and ran short distance races, and logged plenty of miles in between.

What’s next? Might be easier to just retire…

…oh wait, I already signed up for another marathon 🫡😂

ST JUDE MEMPHIS MARATHON 2024- my 1st marathon 26.2mi EVER ✨🏃🏻‍♀️💨

Before I debrief... I just want to say how amazing we all are! All I kept thinking when I could see the thousands of people around me running the streets of Memphis, that it’s just so impressive and that every single person there has worked so hard for this very moment and I just wanted to hug and tell every single person how proud I am of them 💪🏽😁 Now that I’m not so tired... I LOVED IT!!! We all have weaknesses, screw up, and make mistakes. We have doubts, we get nervous and scared. Because we’re not perfect. But I am not doing this race because I thought I was perfect. I did this because I believed in myself. Even with the doubts. My Tia said go be brave like your Abuelo and I was brave enough to take on a difficult challenge. Doing this because I’ve learned how to deal with and learn from and keep going after mistakes and stumbles and setbacks and falls. Doing this because I know that being nervous means I care and I like how it feels to care about something. And I know that this race and all the training I did for it proved that I could be... proved that I can be... proved that I are... stronger, more confident, courageous, hopeful, and better than I once were. I now know that I can be someone that commits to something big... and sees that commitment through. I know that I can do hard things!!! but that’s the point! I didn’t train so hard to not put my all in on the day. I know that I can be greater than I once thought possible. I just can’t be perfect. And I want to celebrate that. Because not being perfect means there is upside. It means there are always more mountaintops for you. It means there is no ceiling. Not being perfect means there is another starting line you can cross and be greater than I’ve ever been before. I just can’t be perfect. So this mile, this run, this marathon, this journey between these start and finish lines can be life changing. It can be inspiring. It can be a triumph. It can be so many amazing things. It just can’t be perfect. But this race didn’t need to be perfect... for it to be extraordinary. And neither do YOU!!! by @celticbabe920

October, you got a little bit of everything out of me. 🧡 118 miles, a full-time job, mom life, dog mom duties, and making room for the things I love.

You see a lot of running here, but behind those miles is a woman working her butt off, being her daughter’s voice, handling the everyday responsibilities, and showing up everywhere she’s needed. Some days, making time for myself takes a little extra planning but I’m learning that I deserve a place on my own schedule, too.

I can’t explain how much I love running and getting out to enjoy my life. The miles, the trips, the laughs, the moments that are just for me. I work hard, and I want to enjoy the life I’m working so hard for.

Closed October strong, tired, and proud of myself. November, let’s keep it going. 🏃🏻‍♀️✨

Halloween miles dressed as my biggest hater: @garmin @garminrunning 🎃⌚️ Tells me to rest, judges me when I run, then gives me a badge for participating. Pick a side 😂👻

Third place the last two years. Today, I earned FIRST OVERALL FEMALE. 🥇🔥

I showed up wanting that top female spot, and I’m so proud to say I earned it! A new @garmin 5K PR of 24:24(sub 25) made it even sweeter. 🏃🏻‍♀️💨

Mile 2 had a little incline that slowed me down, but I picked it back up in mile 3 and pushed through that finish line. I wanted to see what would happen if I really went for it—and today, I found out.

Proud of myself for showing up, getting uncomfortable, and trusting that I could compete for the spot If I wanted. 🏃🏻‍♀️🙌🏽

And apparently, running fast earns you coffee. My kind of reward. 🤭☕️

54,036 steps and 28.2 miles of the Windy City blowing me kisses 🌆💋

Chicago, you were absolutely everything I imagined and more. Last trip of the year, and you were a strong closeout. 🤍

A little recap of where I wandered and what I ate. Lots not pictured, but these are some of the highlights. Leaving these here to make room in my camera roll for the next trip. 📸 ✈️

📍Chicago miles, coffee, and a whole lot of laughs! Running has brought some pretty amazing people into my life, and @king_frankie85 is one of them.

What was supposed to be a 5K turned into almost 5 miles. 😂 That’s the thing about running with good company you get lost in the miles and conversation, enjoying time on your feet and exploring new places.

Thank you for making time to share your city with me! Here’s to more runs in Nashville or Chicago and hopefully running the Chicago Marathon together next year 🤞🏽🙏🏽🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️☕️

Chicago, you reminded me to keep looking up. 🌆🤩

Every building had a story, every walk came with a view, and that lake made me forget I was even in a city. Still thinking about the way the light hit the skyline. ✨

Chicago, you were beautiful. So happy I got to walk your streets all 31k steps and take it all in. 🤍
