Over the next couple of weeks, We are introducing you to the faculty teaching PRFS Cohort 6. This is the roster we built for the clinician who’s done guessing and ready to actually integrate pelvic and fertility care.

Kicking us off: Lynn Schulte of the Center for Birth Healing.

Lynn has spent decades shaping how pelvic clinicians assess and treat birth-related dysfunction, and her work quietly sits underneath a lot of the frameworks the rest of us use every day. Getting her voice in this cohort is the kind of access most CE courses can’t offer.

Cohort 6 starts September 29th— Payment plans are available .

We’re 5 weeks out and seats are filling. If specializing has been on your list, this is the window.

All is well that ends well is not the whole story because it discounts the experience and the experience matters a great deal.

This week we welcome Lynn @centerforbirthhealing to share from her wealth of knowledge and experience in working nearly exclusively with newly postpartum moms for 35+ years.

Birth trauma is a sensitive subject. While some birth trauma occurs because things go off track physically, a lot also occurs because of mothers feeling unheard, unsupported, pressured or like things are done to them without true consent.

Even for those who plan and prepare and believe in their ability to birth, trauma can still occur. There is a lot of complexity in birth and mothers cannot shoulder the full responsibility of trauma when it happens though they are the ones left to deal with it. Blaming mothers for each detail or really at all, is simply unkind.

This doesn’t mean there can’t be awareness nor does it mean that we as women should outsource our power and decision making. Quite the contrary.

It simply means that there are powerful systems in place that often don’t align with our values and are sometimes needed.

It isn’t always possible to exit the system. I have heard stories of trauma in hospitals, with midwives, in home births, sometimes even trauma from a partner who wasn’t supportive. And I’ve heard stories of beautiful births that were powerful and transcendent for mothers.

In a bit of a David and Goliath type scenario- it means mothers do the best they can in broken healthcare systems. And we all need a lot of grace. Because the emotions of postpartum are real.

There is hope though and Lynn offers some solutions and information for mothers to embrace healing on their own terms and from a holistic perspective.

Go have a little listen. 🌻

Keep your abdominal muscles strong during pregnancy will help you during pregnancy, labor and in your postpartum recovery. If your abdominal muscles get weak baby will drop too far forward and baby will have a hard time engaging into the pelvis. Avoid a pendulous belly by hugging your baby in toward your spine. You will be so glad you did. by @centerforbirthhealing
