Almost Blooming
La Maldita Primavera, 2026

The anger of recognizing spring’s return. The first petals emerge, bringing color to a body already anticipating what is to come. Dark glaze runs unevenly across the vessel as the petals begin to take over.

Spring has barely begun, yet the weight of its arrival is already here.

Created during my artist residency at Taoxichuan International Studio, Jingdezhen, China.

Stoneware, paper clay, iron oxides & glazes.
57 × 56 × 58 cm

The process behind the petals in my work. Fun but slow process. Definitely teaches me some patience 🤪

Made individually with paper clay I prepare by myself.
