3 Ways to get more Heat from your fire

Getting more heat from your fire comes down to a few simple habits:

🔥 Don't close the air vents too soon, closing them down too early starves the fire of oxygen and can smother your heat output before it's really got going.

🔥 Give your logs room to breathe, stacking too tightly restricts airflow, so the fire struggles to burn efficiently.

🔥 Pick the right wood for the job, kiln dried hardwood burns hotter and cleaner than wet or unseasoned logs. Get yours at Certainly Wood now!

Small changes, better burns. 🔥 by @certainlywood_

🔥 Some things are just better when you know where they're made

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look, at how our Flamers natural firelighters are made, right here on our family farm in Herefordshire.

Made from natural wood wool dipped in a refined paraffin wax, they’re simple, effective and completely odourless.

No chemicals, no fuss – just a reliable way to get your fire going.

"POV: the evenings are getting colder, but you're just not ready to give up on outdoor evenings yet 🍂

The good news? You don't have to choose.

A firepit and the right logs can keep those evenings going long after the sun's gone down, so you can hold onto that outdoor feeling a little longer.

Wrap up, light it up, and make the most of the season before the cold takes hold 🔥 by @certainlywood_

Ever wondered why your logs arrive so clean? 🔥🪵

It’s because they’re cleaned three times during our production process, removing loose dust and debris before they make their way to your door.

And nothing goes to waste. The wood waste collected during production is used to fuel our biomass boilers, which help kiln-dry the firewood we sell. ♻️ by @certainlywood_

Did You Know?

A single tree absorbs around a tonne of CO2 over its lifetime?

Through our initiative, customers can add a tree to their order helping us to create new UK woodlands,
one order at a time.

In 2025, that added up to nearly 2,550 trees planted.!🔥

Energy bills are going up. Again. 📈

From October 1st, the price cap rises to £1,723 and gas is up 8%. For millions of households, that's another autumn of wondering how to keep the heating bill down.

If you've got a wood burning stove, you're already ahead. But here's the bit people often overlook, the fuel matters as much as the stove. 🔥

Kiln dried logs burn hotter, cleaner and more efficiently than wet or part-seasoned wood. You get more heat from less fuel, and your stove doesn't have to work nearly as hard.

And if you really want to take control of your heating costs this winter, the Fire Club has you covered 👇
