POSTS STORIES REELS

✦ Sri Kailasanathar Swami Devasthanam · Colombo

Moody skies in Colombo. Our driver said he’d never been, but he was impressed when we finally found it.

✦ Ta Prohm · Siem Reap

A few hours and a few temples after Angkor Wat sunrise.

✦ Kollupitiya · Colombo

While they checked us in, I took these two from the lobby balcony.

✦ Bích Động · Ninh Bình

Cycled to the temple in the rain. Arrived soggy.

5am for sunrise. It didn’t show.

✦ Masthuggskajen · Gothenburg

Våghuset - “the Wave House”.

Very on-the-nose.

✦ Joshua Tree · California

Freezing weather and midday light; not the conditions I’d have picked.

✦ Kennin-ji · Kyoto

No tripods allowed, so a test for a steady hand on the old a7II.

Painted in 2002, but looking considerably older.

✦ Nishiki Market · Kyoto

Two hundred metres of a market that’s been trading since the Edo period and I managed to knock the iso way up and not notice.

These are the survivors.

✦ Minato City · Japan

Three frames, one tower. Definitely wasn’t queuing for ‘that spot’, but I like the result.

🇯🇵 Minato City, Tokyo

Swipe for the full climb — which frame is your favourite?

✦ Gothenburg · Sweden

Pink cladding, a red roofline, and a timber frame that turns a courtyard into a movie still…well I think so anyway.

✦ Hoàng Thành Thăng Long · Hanoi

An afternoon inside a citadel that’s been a seat of power for close to a thousand years, then briefly a French garrison, then handed back.

Colonial arches inside an imperial gate. The kind of light that only exists for about thirty minutes before it moves on entirely.

What’s the most architecturally surprising building you’ve walked into while travelling?
