Can’t get more Chinese than these jade ceramic dumplings. Or maybe they are veggie dumplings? 🥟 💚🌿🥦🥒🍏🥬 #chanmadeceramics by @chanlinart

Our very own @chanlinart, twice in one week! Her forbidden dumplings were featured on @etsy.

“One day a plate Chan was throwing completely flopped on the wheel. Muscle memory kicked in and she realized she had folded the clay into a dumpling. And just like that, the dumpling rattle was born. As a queer first-generation Fujianese-American ceramic artist and activist, Chan crafts pieces with awareness of race, place, history, language, and otherness. She started her Etsy shop in 2021 and also teaches ceramic classes in Brooklyn, New York. This May, join us in celebrating seller stories for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month!” by @chanlinart

Catching up on sharing the finished versions of work from earlier this year.

I’ve been away from my ceramics practice since March. A lot has happened: I went to China for some pottery-appreciation travel, completed a solo bike ride from Montenegro to Switzerland, and performed my biggest solo-ish theater show this month. To be deep in these very different passions in my life and cycling through them at life’s whims is a luxury I’m grateful for. It also gives me the reset I need to jump back in with a renewed vigor. (I say this even as I am frantically typing this post while last-minute packing for another bike challenge.)
But the plan is for me to dive head-first into some ceramics [big-ideas] in the new year. Oh, and to catch up on posting some creations to the grid. by @chanlinart

Another spliced and offset pot. I can’t not frown when I’m concentrating. @magnificent_filth called this piece a pomegranate and I think I’ll glaze it that way! #pottery #ceramics #wheelthrowing #wheelthrown by @chanlinart
