Our CDU Menzies Medical Program is helping students like Heather pursue a dream that once felt out of reach. 🩺

For Heather, becoming a doctor was something she’d always wanted.

Now, she’s part of our first cohort, balancing study with motherhood and becoming more confident along the way.

As one of our first First Nations medical students, she hopes others will see her story and feel encouraged to pursue medicine and understand that it is achievable. 💙

Good luck to everyone going through upcoming interviews!

For OT Week 2026, we are celebrating our Occupational Therapists that make transformative impacts on people’s lives every day.

For penultimate Darwin-raised student Cara Doherty, this year’s theme Participation Matters captures exactly what drew her to the profession:

“Participation Matters focuses on the understanding that being able to participate in life is fundamental to our health, wellbeing and sense of belonging,” Ms Doherty said.

“I love this approach to healthcare, whether it be supporting someone to pursue their interests, accessing employment or connecting with their communities.

“As OT’s we can help clients’ bring purpose into their lives.” Ms Doherty said. by @charlesdarwinuniversity

A fresh splash of colour has arrived at our Casuarina campus! 🎨

Our Arthouse Cafe is showcasing a new exhibition featuring incredible artworks from Karungkarni Art and Culture Centre, bringing First Nations art and culture into one of our favourite campus spaces.

Whether you’re stopping by for a coffee or exploring campus, take a moment to admire the artwork and the creativity behind it.

Congratulations to our TAFE students in Alice Springs who competed in the regional @worldskillsau Hair and Beauty competition earlier this week 🎉

Brandy Loechte took home first place in the hairdressing category after three rounds: cut and colour, men's haircut and long hair style up-do. 💇‍♀️

The beauty winner, Keeley Hansen, won first place after completing three rounds: facials, day makeup and night makeup. 💄

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the help and support of Industry Skills Advisory Council NT, along with our local judges and models who generously gave their time.

Congratulations to all the competitors for their hard work and training, and good luck to our students heading to Nationals next year! 🎉

Our hands-on courses are connected to the workforce, so students learn the real skills employers are looking for. Find more information about TAFE by clicking the link in our bio 🔗 by @charlesdarwinuniversity

Everyone deserves to feel welcome, respected and connected at uni. 🏳️‍🌈💜

This LGBTQIA+ History Month, we’re recognising the histories, achievements and contributions of LGBTQIA+ communities, including the students and staff who help shape Charles Darwin University.

Learning is part of building a more inclusive community. In September, the @CDU Student Council organised Sexual and Gender Diversity Training facilitated by NTAHC, exploring LGBTQIA+ histories, pronouns and what it means to be an ally.

Want to connect or get involved? Reach out to CDU Student Council to learn about the CDU Queer Network.

Students can also request free Pride pins, badges and flags from the council’s Minus18 Action Pride Pack. Email cdusc@cdu.edu.au with “Allyship” in the subject line to arrange collection at Danala, Casuarina or Sydney campus. 🌈 by @charlesdarwinuniversity
