I wanted to say something really meaningful here but I’ll be honest, I don’t have much to say. I’ll be real, I don’t like being the centre of attention but I love performing, I love collaborating, I love sharing music, I love being on stage and I love that get the opportunity to do music, creativity and all the fun stuff that used to be my hobby as a career.

January last year, I felt like I didn’t know what my pathway or purpose was. Since then I’ve performed, I’ve travelled, I’ve started a community, I’ve met and collaborated with so many cool people. The things that I didn’t even know I wanted to do yet or how I would get there, I’ve been able to do. A lot of it, I haven’t shared but I want to get better at documenting the journey.

I am beyond grateful 😊

Shout out to the amazing people who were a part of putting this insane festival and performance together at the Southbank Centre.

Once a Disney Kid always a Disney Kid 🥰

The first time I went to Disney World was for my 4th birthday. I’d be lying if I said I remember it but what I will say is that every time I go, it’s always a reminder that the inner child, bookworm, who loves fair tales and musicals never really left me.

Growing up, it can become easy to be hyper focused on the numerous things that consume our attention within adult life but going to places like this enables me to be present, silly and believe in the magic of imagination.

I work in an industry where I’m always creative but often that’s dimmed by the external factors like admin, liaising, deadlines, marketing! All of the unwritten, silent tasks that keeps me being able to do what I love; the ones nobody tells you about when you decide to turn your hobby into a career.

I’m grateful I get to do what I do but I’m also greatly appreciative of the necessary time away to be that kid Chase again.

Mickey this definitely won’t be my last trip, see you soon.

Notting Hill Carnival 2026

On Sunday we celebrate
Notting Hill streets painted with pride
Every flag in the air, together we rise

Less worries or care when we unite
Our ancestors honoured from morning till night
Voices and music fill the air
Elevating our culture, a one of a kind affair

📝 Poetry by @chasetymusic

Someone asked me recently when my first carnival was and honestly I couldn’t answer them. As a Caribbean girlie from NW London, carnival isn’t something you can avoid. It’s embraced. Culture and community.

This is my second year working in carnival as event crew. Being behind the scenes and seeing what it takes to put this festival together puts it into perspective how much time, energy and care goes into it. It’s a free event to attend, people all around the world come to be part of it but let us remember that it’s not at all free to put on, big respect to everyone that has a hand in putting it together.

From an idea to help reduce the racial tension in the area after the murder of Kelso Cochrane to an annual festival accommodating 2 million people. It’s proof that when we come together we can accomplish anything.

To 60 years and many more to come 🖤
