Tomorrow is the day. 🥹❤️ What started as my 3-year-old wanting an Obama-themed birthday party turned into a campaign, a handwritten letter, a community rallying behind our little boy's dream, a response from President Obama's team, and a surprise package waiting at our front door. In just a few hours, Maverick will finally celebrate turning 4 and open a gift from someome he's been dreaming of meeting... and we'll get to experience it with him. To everyone who prayed, shared, tagged, encouraged, and believed with us...AGAIN, THANK YOU. This story became so much bigger than our family. And to President Obama @barackobama if this somehow finds its way to you... thank you for taking the time to make one little boy feel seen. We pray you'll leave your new bestie a few birthday words as he celebrates turning 4 tomorrow. ❤️🇺🇸 The next chapter begins in the morning... and we can't wait to share it with you. #RoadToObama #DreamsDoComeTrue #Mav4President #YesWeCan by @chassitynichole_
🚨THE REVEAL🚨 My 4-year-old humbled us real quick. 😂🇺🇸 First shout out to our amazing neighbors who completely committed to the assignment. They pulled up like Secret Service, in their BLACK SUV and Maverick was LOCKED IN on that black SUV. I just knew this was about to be one of those core memory moments... Then the gift was delivered. He looked around, looked at us, and mumbled... "Where's Barack?" 😭🤣(you will see our neighbor chuckle at Mavs pure disappointment🤣🤦🏽‍♀️) Baby... he thought the gift came with the President! Once he realized it was "just the gift," he was clearly underwhelmed. Idk, I guess That's four🙄 Clearly he doesn't recognize the significance of this moment, he just knew what he was hoping for. And let be honest... after weeks of planning, plenty last-minute cancellations today (I get it, life be lifin) and dreaming up this whole experience, the turnout nor reaction was what I imagined. For a moment, I did let that get to me. But this day was about celebrating our little boy. And I know when I think back on this birthday, I won't remember who couldn't make it or whether every surprise landed the way I hoped. I'll remember the people who showed up, the neighbors who played their role so perfectly, the thousands of people that shared, tagged, and said some of the most beautiful and amazing things and of course my sweet, stubborn 4-year-old asking, "Where's Barack?" like that was the only acceptable outcome. 😂 One day he'll understand the thought behind that gift. One day he'll realize how many people helped make him feel special. Until then, I'll hold onto this memory exactly as it happened. Because I have a feeling this will always be one of my favorite stories to tell as his mama. ❤️ So thank you 10x over to EVERYONE THAT INVESTED THEIR LOVE AND ENERGY NOT ONLY IN THIS DAY, BUT IN OUR LIL BOY...BC YOU ABSOLUTELY DID NOT HAVE TO AND THAT HITS MY MAMA HEART IN A SPECIAL KIND OF WAY🫶🏾🫶🏾💋 by @chassitynichole_

Mav was NOT in the mood for pictures this morning! You would've thought he had a national crisis to handle instead of being on time for Book Character Day! No pictures. No questions. The President has a PRE-K schedule to keep! 😂 Inspired by Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope 📚🤎 #motherhood #explorepage #intentionalparenting #love #boys by @chassitynichole_
Letter recognition➡️Letter placement🟰words Word recognition➡️words placement🟰sentence structure Hopefully sentence structure is where our words meet the concept of reading 📚 🙏🏽 Mav is doing GREAT sounding out and blending words, but when reading sentences, he tends to blend everything together. So mama switched up the approach. We used 3 sight words and 2 words to sound out, then rearranged them to build “I can see the dog.” The goal shifted from trying to read to building his awareness that individual words come together to form sentences. So now introducing sentence structure, is laying the foundation for stronger writing and reading skills! Recognizing WHAT my child knows is important for building, but understanding what he needs NEXT is often where the challenge comes in! I'm really winging it over here...trying it out as we go‼️ #motherhood #learningstartsathome #boys #love #literacy by @chassitynichole_
GAME 6 this Saturday was great TEACHABLE MOMENTS! 1st inning Mav slowed down running to first and got OUT. Next at-bat? He ran HARD, made it to first, then beat the pitcher in a race to home plate to SCORE (my boy really hit a little juke move and I had cut the damn camera, it was NICE!)🔥 1st inning fielding Mav, lost focus and missed a ball at SS. Next chance tho...he ATTACKED it and got it back to the pitcher to stop the run! Coach likes Mav at shortstop, but the boys rotate each inning, so he's getting reps at SS and CF (I googled these positions, I'm learning all this as we go). The BEST part? He corrected what was pointed out! 🥹👏🏾 Not perfection, just PROGRESS! 1% better, baby boy! 💙⚾ SWINGING WITH THE BIG BOYS✨ 3 more games to go. Game 7 tomorrow 👏🏾👏🏾 by @chassitynichole_
“To whom much is given, much is required.” — Luke 12:48 💙 Parenthood will have you looking at and applying scripture in a whole new light. I have really been studying this scripture and recognizing the call to steward the gifts God's given me...that includes my children. Mav's Pre-K benchmarks came back STRONG, and of course I'm PROUD! 🥹👏🏾 But what blessed me most was his teacher saying, “I don't want to hold him back, so I have reached out to our kindergarten teachers for practice resources to keep him challenged" She also asked me to send resources he is work on at home. THAT'S stewardship! Seeing a child's gifts and going the extra mile to nurture them. So grateful for that partnership! 💙 I sometimes hesitate to share Mav's academic progress because I don't want to seem like I'm "flexing" (I'm definitely, proud, don't doubt that). Then I remember when he was in daycare, a mama told me, “Stop downplaying his abilities & the work you do with him. Gifts need to be recognized in order to be cultivated and hard work deserves acknowledgement." That really STUCK...bc if I choose to minimize myself that's one thing, but I owe my baby the reality of BEING EVERYTHING HE IS AND MORE! I don't get to limit his greatness for the comfortability of others. Mav is A LOT in every aspect and I gotta be ok with that and everything that comes with it‼️ So yes, I am proud of the kid; but more importantly I'm pouring into what I was given, bc that's my requirement! PARK ELECTION 2026 🗳 We've spent the last couple of weeks talking about voting and park equity, so we combined the two for our very own PARK ELECTION! 🌳 We used the Texas governor and Senate races as our inspiration, but made the candidates people the kids know! 🏛️ GOVERNOR'S RACE - 🔵 Daddy — Republican - 🔴 Mommy — Democrat 🏛️ SENATE RACE - 🔵 Riah's principal — Republican - 🔴 Mav's principal — Democrat (We used the color code chat gave us) Each race had its own park-related platform ideas, and the kids voted on which ones made the most sense to THEM. Here's what was on our park ballot: 🌳 Access: Who gets to use the park? 🩹 Nurses: Who helps when someone gets hurt? 💰 Funding: Who pays for the park? 🛝 Safety: How do we keep kids safe? 📝 Testing: How do we know the park is meeting everyone's needs? 🔧 Maintenance: Who fixes what's broken? The results are in! 🗳️ Riah: Democratic ALL THE WAY DOWN! 🗳️ Mav: Split his ticket! Two Republican choices and four Democratic choices. But the FUNNIEST part? Mav woke up this morning hollering, "WE GO VOTE TODAY!" Then CRIED when he found out we weren't going until after school! 😭🤣 It's exciting to see their interest. They're learning that voting isn't just about picking a person. It's about understanding what people stand for, asking questions, and recognizing how decisions affect the communities we live and PLAY in. At one point Riah asked, "so who are the good ppl and who are the bad?" I had to explain to her it's not necessarily that either is automaticallu good or bad (maybe true for this current administration), but instead about what ideas you believe are helpful or hurtful for your community and country. I'm not teaching them WHO to vote for. I'm trying to teach them how to think through WHAT they're voting for!🗳 I know yall boy gonna be cheesing with his sticker once we get to the polls this evening 😍 #GoVote #IntentionalParenting #Motherhood #Love by @chassitynichole_
Bruh, do y'all kids BEG to do stuff they know good and well they have NO business doing?! Or that's just mine🫠🥴 Mav has been OBSESSED with saying a curse word, so I finally gave him a one-time pass. This boy said TWO before I shut it DOWN! But who told the kid the consequences for profanity is jail🤣 this sound like Lolli's doing and yet you still wanna ask to say em🤦🏽‍♀️ Somebody please explain this fascination with forbidden vocabulary for toddlers! JESUS CHRIST Ohhhh this was right after him and Riah argued the other day. He still had her on his mind clearly🤣🤣 by @chassitynichole_
Not sure if were happy to be home or sad we had to leave daddy. Our vacations are rarely about where we get to go and more so about who we get to be with 🫶🏾 A week with daddy is always worth catching the flight✈️ Until next time 💋✌🏽 #FallBreak #Vacay #motherhood by @chassitynichole_
