The number one question I keep getting is why didn’t I trademark my business the first time?

I’ll answer that but until then here’s what I’ve learned and wanted to share with the community so we can ALL learn through this crazy experience 👀

Lesson 1: Trademark + Copyright your works logos and ideas but don’t patent.

Lesson 2: File Early

Lesson 3: lawyers are expensive so would you rather pay to get it done right once or pay for litigation.. because me myself and I … I’m facing a litigation invoice retainer fees etc accounting to 100k.
Even though I’m fighting you shouldn’t have to.

PART 2: Cameo’s Austin moving emergency just took a turn 😳🚨

If you missed Part 1, here’s the story: my friend @cameoseven is a grad student in Austin, Texas. She’s fighting a lupus flare and an injury, and she has to move out of her apartment with no family nearby and no moving help. 💔

Here’s what’s happened since then 👇🏾

💸 She got an extension to Saturday, but it cost her $250. That was almost every dollar donated so far.

🏠 She’s paying prorated rent at the bigger place while she gets out.

📦 Her friends showed up to help her pack.

🙌🏾 Then an influencer friend found a moving company that will move her for $600 to $800 with a friends and family discount!!

So here’s where we are: $800 gets Cameo moved. ⏰ The deadline is SATURDAY.

If 160 people send $5, she’s moved. If 80 people send $10, she’s moved. That’s it. That’s the whole mission. 🤍 by @checkoutjon

We’re looking for the BEST cookies in Austin, Texas @homeslicepizza was our first stop

And let’s just say these are a choking hazard (if someone thinks I’m about to share it with them) they were sooo good 😂 by @checkoutjon

@homeslicepizza took care of Austin & your city might take care of you too!

Today I voted to Flip this mf BLUEEE 💙

Friendly reminder that this was a BIG election, and the perks of voting for something that actually matters are far greater than a slice of pizza.

BUT it doesn’t hurt to be rewarded with something that tastes good too 🍕 (@homeslicepizza)

🚨 This is an emergency.

Cameo has until THURSDAY, November 5th to move out, and she needs all of us.

My friend, @cameoseven is navigating an ‼️EMERGENCY 🚨 MOVE while managing an active lupus flare, an injury from this move, a recent job loss, and the start of grad school.

She has no family here, her unemployment is running out, and the moving help she was counting on fell through.

Here’s the plan:
She’s downsizing from a two-bedroom to a one-bedroom, with some things going into storage. Everything is close by, but she can’t pack and move it alone.

Asking for help isn’t easy for her. So we’re asking for her 👀

Wherever you are, here’s what makes a difference:
💜 Donating. Venmo, Zelle and GoFundMe are pinned in the comments
🔁 Sharing this to your Story so it reaches the right people

🚚 Movers, cleaners, and anyone in Austin with a truck, boxes or a free hour: DM us

To everyone who has already shown up with supplies, rides and helping hands: thank you. You’ve carried her through some hard days.

No one should have to do this alone. Let’s get Cameo home. 🤍 by @checkoutjon

STOP washing your f*cking face … (So much)

Because let’s not end up with a year round Halloween costume on the face card …

LISTEN.. cleansers aren’t bad, but if you over use them?

you can actually damage/disrupt your skin barrier 🚫 although sometimes when we’re having a breakout or trying to avoid oily skin/ dry areas we’ve been told to wash your face for years.

But if you pay attention to #KoreanSkincare you’ll see the results for yourself

Focus on skin 💦 HYDRATION 💦 in both routines, but reserve cleansing your skin for the night so the barrier can heal itself and retain those natural@oils throughout the day.

For those of you concerned about oily skin, dry skin or acne/build up the hydration tool I use is a lavender rosewater because it also fights acne, controls oil and obviously has my skin SWIMMING in this mf 💦
