I am a Peruvian-Australian acrylic painter and muralist whose work celebrates the human form and the vibrant cultural heritage of Peru and Australia. My paintings are colourful and inspired by nature, drawing from madre tierra and the traditions of Peruvian artisans I have encountered in the Amazon, Andes, and major cities of Peru. Through bold colour and figurative expression, I explore themes of identity, intimacy, and resilience, highlighting the strength and vulnerability of women. I returned to painting during the COVID-19 pandemic, rediscovering my passion and building a growing audience through Instagram, where I share and sell my work. I have exhibited with the Northern Beaches Art Association and the Ethel Street Art Collective. Through my art, I aim to weave together Latin American storytelling, natural inspiration, and contemporary expression, creating powerful portraits that connect heritage with the present moment. by @chela_cain_art

MUY 🇦🇺🇵🇪 Meet ( @chela_cain_art ) Chela Cain is an Australian-Peruvian artist whose work is a celebration of the human form and her heritage. Through bold acrylics and figurative expression, she explores identity, intimacy and resilience — the women she paints embody both strength and vulnerability, surrounded by symbols of tradition, passion and everyday life. She began painting again during the COVID-19 pandemic, building her practice and audience through Instagram, and has since exhibited with the Northern Beaches Art Association, the Ethel Street Art Collective, and at community markets across Sydney. We’re thrilled to have her bold, storytelling vision at MUY by OLA this October! 📅 Sat, 17 Oct ⚡️ 11am – 5pm 📍 Fitzroy Town Hall Ballroom 🎟️ Get your tickets A practice where heritage, emotion and presence converge — Latin American storytelling in a modern painterly voice. #OtherLatinArt #LatinAmericanArt #MelbourneArt by @chela_cain_art
