🌊🌙🐚 RELEASE DAY REVIEW! 🌙🌊🐚

📖: Moon Cursed by Holly Renee
✨ Available Now! ✨

When I heard that Holly was writing another Romantasy, I was highly intrigued. I’ve been reading her romances for quite some time and to hear she was stepping into my favorite genre again caused nothing but excitement for me. I’m convinced she could write any genre, but her romantasy’s are unforgettable.

I was eagerly awaiting starting this book and now I know why. The universe knew I’d love it, way before I did.

Lou was the scorned daughter branded as a witch and a bad omen just like her mother. She only knew a life of loss, cruelty and exile. Getting to read the beginning of her journey to take control of her life was powerful and I can’t wait to continue.

Rune, the Drowned King, cursed with sacrificing his queen, was the most tortured soul. He was gone for Lou at first sight and was determined to keep her safe. I loved his chapters of yearning and realization.

The ending has left me feeling hollow. I just knew (redacted) would become a problem. And I’m so mad I was right. I need book two where Lou kicks their a*s. Holly?? Please tell me it’s your current WIP??🙏

🌙✨📖🍂 OCTOBER READING WRAP-UP 🍂📖✨🌙

October as a whole was a bit of a blur. It went by fast but.. also slow?🙃 We, unfortunately, spent most of it sick (still fighting it actually) but we made the best of it! Here’s to hoping for a healthy and calm November!🙏

I did however, read some great books! My favorite would have to be Shadow And Son! The whole series blew me away and I’m going to miss being in that world and being with the characters 🤎 I highly recommend everyone read it!

@shainaanastasi.author congratulations on yet ANOTHER flawless cover! You sure know how to pick an artist! I can’t wait to read it.

🍎🐦‍🔥🖤 ARC BOOK REVIEW! 🖤🐦‍🔥🍎

📖: These Lessons Are Merciless by M.R. Pritchard
✨ Available November 1, 2026 ✨

Every time I dive back into this world, I feel at home. Pritchard’s writing and world building continues to suck me right in.

This one was centered around Yelena and Jasper. We got a little snippet of them in the prior books, as usual with this interconnected series. But it was just that, a small sneak peek.

The main theme it delved into was the Garden (of Eden) and I really enjoyed the alternative perspective. It made questions arise that I hadn’t thought of. (What if Eve didn’t really bite the apple? What if it was all a lie told by the corrupter?) It also explored reincarnation, which was fun to read and a subject I’ve always found fascinating. Both themes really got me thinking and both were unexpected, but welcomed.

Yelena herself was easy to love, as all the FMC’s in this world have proven to be. She was kind and resilient, even while being hunted her entire life.

Her Guardian Angel / College Professor, Jasper, was just that and more. He fell first and yearned. He was protective, patient and risked everything he had several times for her.

Overall, another win for Pritchard! I can’t wait for the next!🖤

🗡️🦉⛓️‍💥 AUDIOBOOK REVIEW! 🗡️🦉⛓️‍💥

📖: The Emperor’s Enemy by Jasmine Mas
🎧: Emma Wilder & Teddy Hamilton

The hype of this one got me a little, but I still enjoyed it! I listened on audio and then went back and highlighted parts in ebook format once my Libby loan was ready.

The audio was entertaining! I liked the narrators and hearing the MMC speak the “thou” and “thee” style of old language was a new experience for me. (Although it seemed a little messy & mixed with modern language.)

The plot itself was very light & kind of got lost on me until the very ending. The story was mostly focused on them deceiving one another & their attraction but I can foresee book two getting deeper into the backstory and logistics.

Zora was strong, determined and strategic. All of her actions made sense in the end but in the moment, I found myself thinking she was careless with her personal well-being, which prolonged my likeness for her a bit. That said, having finished, she had grown on me and I’m looking forward to more of her character and journey.

The MMC, was a man starved. Morally grey, obsessive and possessive. Very much a “touch her and unalive” man. Like Zora, he took a little getting used to as well. My view of him started off as mysterious, then questionably deranged, and lastly purely devout. The lengths he went to to get Zora were as unhealthy as they were impressive.

I’m intrigued enough to want to see where this story takes us in book two!

💭 Have you read this & what did you think? Hyped appropriately or over hyped?
