LOOK in COLOR: leaning into playing with mixing different silhouettes was one of my favorite things to do when I used to wear all black.
My form hasn't ever been curvy, so to supplement a lack of shape, I enjoy finding ways to do it with clothing shape and drape.
Providing angles, cut-offs, and curved edges quickly brings dimension to an outfit that would otherwise fall flat.
But I sure do love a sweater around the waist 😂

Vibing like my 3rd grade self (for Halloween).

Are you even a millenial unless you have a laser beam backdrop school pic?

LOOK in COLOR: I was in second grade the first time I remember having a visceral response to what I was wearing, and it had nothing to do with how it looked.

It was an all-gray sweatsuit, but I remember how it draped on me, how it felt against my skin, and how I felt in it. Even today, while I appreciate the aesthetics of an outfit, how I feel in it will always matter more than how it looks. Because when you feel comfortable in what you’re wearing, it translates into how you carry yourself, and confidence is always a good look. So the next time you get dressed, pay attention to how your clothes make you feel, not just how they make you look.

Remember, you weren’t made for clothes; clothes were made for you, so make the clothes work for you. by @chelli_look

Anything given from a pure motive is never wasted, regardless of how it was received or whether it was acknowledged.

It’s important that we go throughout life paying attention to the posture of our own hearts (for from it, flows all of life), making sure our actions are rooted in sincerity rather than the expectation of a particular response.

Whether someone shows gratitude, gives you credit, or even recognizes the sacrifice, none of that should be the measure of your giving.

There is a freedom in doing something good without needing to be seen doing it.

At the end of the day, you have to be able to live with the intentions behind your actions, even when you have no control over how they are received. by @chelli_look

Final day in Barcelona.

We searched high and low for the little shops tucked into beautiful streets, discovering local clothing boutiques, home goods, and the kind of unique finds that make you want to bring a little piece of a place home with you.

But beyond the things we found, I’m grateful for the time spent exploring it all with Sarah, my friend of 22 years. It's a unique privilege getting to experience new places with someone who has known you through so many different versions of yourself.

And as a mother, I’m reminded how important it is to get out and away sometimes. To explore without an agenda, play, be curious, see new spaces, gather inspiration, and experience the world outside of regular routines.

Motherhood is beautiful, but so is making room to be a person outside of it all. To return home with a fuller heart, a fresh perspective, tired legs, and a few new stories to tell.

I'm grateful for your partnership @lookatyeti ❤️

Also, why was my BEST meal in Barcelona from an Italian restaurant?!🤭 by @chelli_look

Barcelona, day four.

The Basilica Sagrada Família (slide 3, 4, 5) provoked a visceral response unto tears. I was not able to walk thru it as emotionally sober as the hundreds of people around me. I have a deep appreciation for beauty and it is the most astonishing place I've experienced. by @chelli_look

Look in Color: I traded stars for stripes!

I exchanged a very generous gift for something that feels more versatile, but the bigger takeaway? Don’t let your first impression be your final perspective.

Stay open to exploring, even when the original option doesn’t quite fit. There’s room to be stretched and still find what works for you. by @chelli_look

Don’t have a closet full of "someday"clothes.

That dress/shoe/fit you love but somehow keep deciding is “too much” for an ordinary Tuesday...wear it.

Way too often we attach so much significance to an upcoming or potential occasion that we forget the clothes themselves can make an ordinary day feel a little more special. Or worse, we think we have to put off an exciting look because we won't be able to come up with another IF something "worthy" comes up. But the same creativity that got you that idea will be the same creativity that bubbles up the next.

You don’t need to justify wearing the thing that makes you feel like yourself.

Wear the clothes...while you’re excited about them.
