This year, I devoted every part of myself to creating my first book, π‘‚π‘π‘‘π‘œπ‘π‘’π‘Ÿ 7π‘‘β„Ž | π΅π‘’π‘Žπ‘Ÿπ‘–π‘›π‘” π‘Šπ‘–π‘‘π‘›π‘’π‘ π‘ . So many people walked this path with me. Together, we created what I believe is not just a book, but a testimony, a historical document of our people, and the most meaningful work of my life so far, and perhaps ever, as a photojournalist. October 7th: Bearing Witness is my promise, to remember, to record, and to ensure that β€œnever again” is not just a phrase, but a responsibility. In 2026, I hope to turn my lens toward healing, toward light, growth, rebuilding, and the quiet, unwavering resilience of our people. 2026, please be kinder to us. Bring us light. β€’ 𝑻𝒉𝒆 π’ƒπ’π’π’Œ - 𝒉𝒕𝒕𝒑𝒔://π’˜π’˜π’˜.π’„π’‰π’†π’π’ˆπ’”π’„π’‰π’Šπ’Žπ’Žπ’†π’.π’„π’π’Ž β€’ πΉπ‘œπ‘Ÿπ‘’π‘£π‘’π‘Ÿ π‘”π‘Ÿπ‘Žπ‘‘π‘’π‘“π‘’π‘™ π‘‘π‘œ οΌ π‘›π‘–π‘‘π‘§π‘Žπ‘›_π‘˜ π‘Žπ‘›π‘‘ οΌ π‘šπ‘Žπ‘¦π‘Žπ‘Ÿπ‘œπ‘›π‘ π‘œπ‘› π‘€β„Žπ‘œ π‘€π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘’ π‘π‘œπ‘‘β„Ž π‘šπ‘¦ 𝑀𝑖𝑛𝑑 π‘Žπ‘›π‘‘ π‘šπ‘¦ π‘Žπ‘›π‘β„Žπ‘œπ‘Ÿπ‘  π‘‘β„Žπ‘Ÿπ‘œπ‘’π‘”β„Žπ‘œπ‘’π‘‘ π‘‘β„Žπ‘–π‘  π‘π‘Ÿπ‘œπ‘π‘’π‘ π‘ οΌŽ by @chen_schimmel

My first book, documenting that year, stands as a testimony to what our people endured. Now available to order in Israel, with pre-orders open for the UK and USA. https://www.chengschimmel.com All proceeds are donated to the Dror Program of the Summit Institute, supporting soldiers living with trauma and post-trauma. 𝘏 𝘌 π˜™ This project started from a need to feel, to see, to be present... in moments that are often too complex to put into words... HER is a collection of moments, of different women, each carrying a story. Separate, yet deeply connected.... It’s about what happens beneath the surface... The quiet strength, the vulnerability, the parts we don’t always show... Through my lens, I try to hold onto those fragments... to give them space, to let them exist, just as they are... Because sometimes... the most powerful stories are the ones we carry quietly. by @chen_schimmel
