There is something very calming about this space and I love it! @sunaparanta_goa

I really enjoyed the exhibits here that were featured last month. It took me back to sounds and spaces we knew as kids when we visited Goa.

We decided to catch a quick snack and drink @cafebodegagoa and boy we were in for a surprise. Everything was delicious and in substantial portions something you don’t come across easily in Goa.
What I mean by that is more than often the prices are extremely exorbitant and the portions served don’t justify the price especially when it is part of the main course.

I shall definitely head there again with my family especially when in Panjim and seeking a space that is beautiful, calm and uplifts the soul et the tummy.

Yesterday was a very good day.

It was a day that restored my faith in humanity. With everything going on for the past few years and days I stood muddled and aimless for a while. Shocked almost, and wanting to scream at the same time.

And then came the day. A day that was going so right but started to go very wrong, but the kindness we were met with is something I am going to hang onto for a while.

You see our bike broke down after this very beautiful event on the importance of Mangroves organised by Greta from #moira and her friends.

There we were standing in the pouring rain attacked by our friends the mosquitoes, wondering how we were ever going to get home when all the angels started to appear.

First a friend in the group who tried his best to help in the little time he had.
Then a stranger who just stood with us for a while.
A carpenters family that not only tried to charge the battery, but invited us into their home and were with us for three hours until a truck came to haul our bike home. (Yes, they even helped heave the heavy thing into the truck.)
Milu and his truck and this angel was just back from an event and very tired. .
The awesome helpline @atherenergy ,who were ever so patient with all our funny questions.
A neighbour who left his meal and came to help us haul the bike down.
And my darling child who figured we were going to be pretty late and took care of things at home so that we could attack some warm rice and curry the minute we got out of our dirty clothes.

In life we all know whats right and wrong. We all know where we should stand in the scheme of things But how we act as humans in the very moment that requires us to be there for someone or something. How we serve others without any expectations that is the true test of our humanity. ❤️

The @kochibiennale is brilliant!

A step up and forward, towards the way art should truly be represented in #india

From the way it flowed for the observer, the gorgeous spaces it is housed at, to the way it represented all artist - local, indian and international.

The little respites in the form of cafes, restaurants, eager entrepreneurs, places to just enjoy the moment and space.

The cleanliness of the city, welcoming openness of its people, the fabulous organisation, and obvious support of the state government.

I entered Kochi on a sad note but left with a full heart.
Hats off to all of you. Job well done. 💯

Garbage is now a big problem here.

So after living here for a while I have observed that there are many reasons for this situation and frankly we are all part of it. Garbage here is dumped mindlessly on roads, near trees, in forests, and our precious water bodies.

1) Consumption.
We consume too much as human beings (me included) and most of are choices are covered in plastic and other non- biodegradable waste.

2) Construction waste.
This is a major problem in Goa at the moment with mindless clearing of forest and farmlands for homes and monstrous buildings bought as second homes, investments and just plain greed that most people don’t need and mostly once bought stay unoccupied.
Builders shouldn’t be allowed to dump construction waste on the roads throught the process. Heck they shouldn’t be building so much in the first place and that too on land that will definitely tip the balance badly if this continues.

3) The labourers.
That are part of these construction sites.
The poor chaps are so tired from their hard work they just drink alcohol or soft drinks and grab whatever they can to eat and junk it along the way home. Panchayats should work with builders and fine the builders to ensure points 2 and 3.

3) Some locals, club and hotel owners.
That dump their garbage in other areas and don’t want to pay a fee for collection of garbage. The fee should be made mandatory for all and reflect on government bills. Heavy fines would probably be the key. Money makes people do marvellous things in India🙄.

4)The shotgun tourist.
Snacking and dumping waste out of cars, on beaches, on the roadside, etc.

So when you see that pretty pic of Goa.
Remember this is also Goa. And if we all want a cleaner Goa whether we are Goans, government, builders, tourists or just plain human we all have to make better choices and look out for Mother Nature.

Stop being silent and looking the other way. Speak out if you see this happening in your Vado, outside your home, on your roads and in your beloved Goa or a Goa is a gonner.

What stood out for me in #malaysia was the food. Not all of it was Malay cuisine but, Nasi Goreng Kampung turned out to be the absolute favourite for me.

The version I had carried the distinct flavour of coconut, dozens of curry leaves, crunchy corn, tiny chopped French beans and a hint of spice.

The fried crispy chicken on the side with crunchy coconut toppings was to die for.

I ate mine at @orientalkopi.asia
And it was 💯 delicious.

I was wondering what all the hype was about and but this turned out to be a pretty cool space.

I can only see it getting better and better
