for my most recent event, cherrii and meilk got a bit of an update in both their clay and digital forms! i have been reducing the size of the cheeks but that doesn't mean they aren't as squishable, i am just growing my art style is all. regardless, cherrii and meilk will have a full feature soon with some collection mates that got redone in july.

oh yeah, i think i forgot to update you guys, but i was initially going to start posting again in july. however, i realized i had 3 weeks to prepare for one of my biggest events yet - a 4 day korea festival in mtl!! i did try to filming at the beginning but i realized to be on pace with what i wanted to accomplish, i needed to shelve making content.

good news is that i have so many new creation i made for this event that i cant wait to share with yall! (i juuuust need to get around to editing everything so the rollout will be gradual)

while i am editing stuff for yall, i made a lil summer illustration with my babies~ plus u will get to see a sneak peak to the upcoming v2 designs of some fruity pets hehe. oh and the digitals used to decorate my booth.

honestly, while i did need a break from posting to focus on the event, it's good to be back :)) (for good, like no more fake outs, i swear)

collection_5.charms[0] = yin_n_yaow

i hinted at this collection 4 months ago, but life hit me like a freight train. to be candid, i had been so overwhelmed with my university studies, especially since my team was failing a project that counts towards our graduation. so i had to make the hard decision of shelving my hobbies until i was in a more stable spot.

i know putting this off for my mental health was for the best, but it doesn't mean i felt good about this. sculpting has been a very calming activity that i enjoy and its a nice break from looking at screens all day. to go months on end without this outlet was saddening. i didn't even want to check this account bc i didn't want to be reminded of what i'm missing out on. so i logged out.

the semester came to an end and i had free time again. but i didnt immediately go back to sculpting... i brushed it off as the burnout from the semester so i just needed to vegetate a bit. a month went by and i would look at my supplies and go on with my day.

i was scared, scared that i wouldn't be as good, scared that maybe i wont have something worth showing to return to this account. but i can't let fear drive the decisions i make. i decided, "yknow what? im gonna make something and even if it isn't any good, at least i'm getting started again." i need to stop getting in my own way.

but back to the characters, i designed these like last december as friendship keychains. my inspo was claire's bff necklaces from my childhood. i adore cats (despite my severe allergy) so i had to make some cat besties. i wanted stark contrast between the two and using inspo from yin and yang, these are how they were born.

yin (black) is chill and grounded of the two. she will match yaow's vibrant energy when together. her favourite pastime is to be curled up in a blanket while reading a good book on a rainy day.

yaow (white) is always on the go. it's best not to give him coffee as he already has way too much energy as it is. he is that extroverted friend that will drag that one introverted friend to go out.

just a lil update for anyone curious ☆

sneak peak to some designs i've had in the works~

do u remember those bff necklaces you would get at claire's? i wanted to try my hand at some friendship keychains and maybe a few sketches of lil friend characters. i think i sketched out a dog design and a bunny design. not sure if i will make all of them but i love cats so will be making these very soon (uωu*)

but yeh, i have been feeling super out of it for a while. my executive disfunction has been hitting me like crazy and my school workload overwhelms me ://

i decided to take some time the other day and let my mind wander. we had gotten two back to back snowstorms so i started sketching some lil guys in the snow. i thought back to these old design and found comfort in bringing them to life. art truly heals the soul and im gonna try to set up a schedule this week so i can have art breaks throughout the week. having gone a full month with little to no art breaks has been so depressing and doodling in class has been my only outlet.

let me know if u guys wanna see more fun scenes with my clay designs. ive only really shared my clay pieces and drawing is another passion of mine~

my first ever commission!! σ(ﾟДﾟ*) for the lovely @halolyna ~

art has always been a fun lil hobby i do and i never thought past that. so when a friend of a friend of mine contacted me about doing a commission for her, i was gobsmacked to say the least.

she wanted me to sculpt a cockatiel and ngl i have little experience with birds but she really trusted me and wanted to see my vision. i managed to come up with a concept sketch and we agreed on the design to be a desk companion.

im so grateful that she was so patient, encouraging, and understanding throughout the entire process. from process updates to drop off, i dun think i could have asked for a better first customer.

while this was a smooth interaction, it really made me think that if i ever do this again, i REALLY need to set some kind of infrastructure up lol.

but nonetheless, it's the lil victories that make the journey more fulfilling ﾟ+.ﾟ(*´∀`)bﾟ+.ﾟ

no matter how big or small, doing something that sparks joy makes the days zoom by☆

if anyone happens to be coming to ganime in gatineau this weekend (jan 17 - 19), you should def make a pit stop at my booth ;3

i will be giving some freebie stickers to any of you that pass by :))

im going to try to post my mini catalog on the first day of the con hehe.

for those of you that stuck past my lil announcement, i just wanna thank you guys for being here (^_^)v

i think most people here are abroad so idk if ill see any of u irl, but everyone has been so kind and encouraging whenever i mention that i had been prepping for this event.

i wanted to share that i feel like i let myself down a bit bc i had plans to do way more inventory for this event, but i didn't realize the time needed to make such large quantities of clay charms. while it is disappointing to feel like the plan is not working out, i am proud that i pushed myself to do this event. i think wtv the outcome, i feel like i have a better understanding of the time needed to do this kind of thing and hopefully, if i vend again, ill be able to better prepare next time!

oh btw, this is a front illustration of my business card for the event :)) what do you guys think?

happy new years guys! so december was a lil more chaotic than i expected it to be with all the holidays and my capstone project eating up a lot of the month, leading me to taking essentially an unofficial hiatus ;_; it felt weird not being crafty whatsoever for basically 3 weeks...

i really missed chatting and sharing my silly lil children with yall these past few weeks. i feel guilty for just dropping without notice but ik it was whats best for my own mental well-being. i will try to be more mindful next time i decide to go awol.

being away from ig is so weird. idk how this platform works but my work continued to get pushed by the algorithm after all these weeks and im grateful to all of you that joined during this lil hiatus period hehe. must have been weird to not get posts with my ramblings lol.

sadly ik still kinda busy with capstone but starting this week, im getting ready for my first in person event as an artist vendor at ganime in gatineau, ontario ~ i will be posting more about it in the coming week and i am planning to film the process of prepping and hopefully a lol bit of the con! it may take a while to edit but i will eventually upload the experience on yt!! im honestly so excited about this :))

ps. im still getting the hang of davinci resolve, i wanna get better at color grading and just editing in general

they may look cute but they do not play around. im just saying, when they showed up in town, my strawberry cat disappeared... but they seem to always be whispering to one another and giggling. i fear they are up to no good and their mischievous nature will land them on the FBI most wanted list. but despite it all, they make fine comrades to watch over your desk during your productive hours ~ they take their post seriously and will cause work crises when you are not looking ( ﾟεﾟ；)

here is the line up of our current culprits:
★ creamy blue is a shortbread cookie sandwich topped with a cream and a single blueberry. he has a short temper and is always the first to blow up during a high stakes situation
★ creamy poki is top center, adorned with cookie sticks. my bro literally wants to just go back to bed despite having just awoken from a nap (;´-｀)
★ creamy red supports her lazy brother poki at the bottom right and paired her icing with a single strawberry. she loves to accessorize but she will be the one to cover up the murder if any of her brothers accidentally killed some charm...id be careful if i were u...

but wow, this is the most lore i tried to come up with, but i love trying to find different ways to express my creativity.

also first clay desk pals! these came about when i was testing out some veggies cutters I bought. i saw on yt that people will use cookie cutter so this was my first try at using cutters and it was fun :))

also, thank you to everyone for sticking around despite my inactivity. i have been really overwhelmed with my personal life and to make i can balance everything, i decided to slow down to posting once a week throughout the month of december. im trying to edit my backlog so that there is something fun to see and next week's will be kinda fun! i managed to film an entire sculpt sessions for these guys so expect a longer reel and it will be voice over :)) i am not looking forward to editing but I think it will turn out really cool. (also if u read this far, i think u deserve a reward or smt bc u read through my yapping)

catch me squeezing in a sculpt session at 7:30am before a work from home day~

idk about yall but im curious (or nosy wtv floats ur boat) wnout hoe other people approach their craft like their sculpting process, glazing, or keychain/jewlery assembly. and recently, i have consumed copious amounts of vlog content on yt and I thought of filming a grwm, but for when im getting ready to start sculpting. plus, i remember you guys liking the last asmr type reel i made with keychain assembly, so I tried to also make another one. lmk if u guys like it :3

ive been feeling so overwhelmed recently. i feel that i am being pulled in so many directions, where im trying to find time to sculpt, to work on my year-long engineering project required for graduation, to study for my three upcoming online exams, and to still be a decent enough intern until mid december. and it's not like i have nothing to post, i have a decent backlog, but i am struggling to find time to edit and post atm.

i think for this month, ill try to at least post once a week, but it will ramp up in january since i will be preparing to table at ganime's artist alley in gatineau. i have bought most of my tabling supplies after watching so so many artist alley vids, idk if u guys would interested in seeing a long vlog of me preparing for this event or if I should make a series of reels about parts of the prep process.

anyways, i hope yall aren't as overwhelmed as i am and that you find some time to relax

ya gurl is lazy af~

you will either catch me being super patient and try to make every brush stroke count, and then there are times like these where i do not have the patience to be careful and throw caution to the wind?

does anyone else take shortcuts? (,,・д・)

pls dun let me be the only lazy one out here (; >_<)

but sorry for the delay guys! this was actually supposed to come out this past sunday, but ive been really busy this past week ;—; i will be preoccupied this weekend again so I sadly won't be able to work on clay again, but next week, I will have the time, finally!!

cherrii: can we trust them?
meilk: don't be silly, they just wanna be our friends~
bluebeary: *extends a paw* w-welcome to the fruit crew☆

here are the fruity pets collection charms all together! it has been a rapid week, i am overjoyed that the work i was less than impressed with had been well received. i was beating myself over the imperfection i as the creator could only see, but all the comments and the excitement shown from each post has taught me to be a bit kinder to myself and that maybe it wasn't perfect this time, but there is always a next time so why shed tears about it?

i have a confession, mandy bunny was the charm i was least confident in bc i felt the one needing most improvement but u guys showed so much love for him that i was not prepared for. so id like to thank you guys for being such amazing people ☆

i have been quite busy these last couple weeks and have not had the time to sculpt or finish any ongoing projects so expect some reels for now lol. i will be posting in the upcoming days on my story some of the upcoming designs i will be making. i also just bought some air dry clay so we will see how that goes...

who is your favorite of the fruity pets? (pawberry?) by @cherriimeilk

and the final charms of the fruity pets collection are here, cherrii and meilk!

cherrii is the pessimist and meilk is the optimist. while cherrii has lost hope in the world due to a secret past, meilk makes every day a silly one, which in turn makes cherrii roll her eyes and follows meilk to whatever new adventure they embark☆

these two were the catalyst for the fruity pets collection☆~ i wanted to eventually sculpt my pfp and figured, why not expand it to a whole collection of characters?

for these, im rethinking of how i made their snouts and ears next time and i would make the eyepatch opaque instead of transparent since it kind of disappears into cherrii, but overall, it isn't too bad ;]

they are a true representation of myself. everyone is multifaceted and while u see one side on instagram, there are so many other sides that we keep hidden away from others to hide our own flaws. so these characters have a special place in my heart.

barreling in at a max speed of 38km/h, the fourth charm of the fruity pets collection, peachy red panda, is here~

peachy red is a peach × red panda that loves his friend ♡ he will occasionally have the zoomies, and has a mischievous streak where he will pounce his family and chosen people

i absolutely adore red pandas for their cuteness and really wanted to make something with them in mind. i chose a peach bc they are sweet but tangy and have a fuzzy exterior which felt fitting for such an animal.

after making this one, i want to make some modifications like light eyebrows and more white on the ears. but i think im mostly happy with the design.

omg i forgot to mention how I had completely forgot to attach the tail so i had to add clay adhesive and move for a few mins to have it all stuck together lol.

tmr is gonna be the last charm showcase! can you guess what they will be?
